Blleding Brakes on a GMC

I have a question about bleeding the brakes on a 199 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. Awhile back I changed some brake lines. I manually bleed the brakes, The pedal would not come up, had hardly any brakes. I re-bleed them numerous times, still no pedal. I went to a mechanic and he bleed them using the Computer. He told me the ABS unit has to be bleed by computer?

I just redid front brakes and rotors, back brakes too. IO need new calipers. My wuestion is . If I change calipers can I bleed the rear brakes myself?? If so is there a certain technique??

I never came across this all my life and I am 60 years of age now. I have always done my own work.

I appreciate any help !!

Thank You

Thank You. How come when I bled the whole system I could not get my pedal to come up, it was soft and went all the way to the floor.

When the mechanic used the computer it was fine??

I an just curious.

Should I bleed eacj caliper after indstalling it? Or do both at the same time?

Sorry if these questions seem ridiculous, I just never had it happen to me before?

Thanks Again

Douhg

A normal bleed is all you need if you're replacing the calipers.

What does +1 Mean?

"+1" is someone agreeing. Also Bleed each caliper separate using the bleed port. I had to when I replaced my front calipers

Bleeding is only a problem when air gets into the abs module. If the system is full when you start, change them one at a time. You should be ok.

I just did the big brake upgrade on our 03 Tahoe. no problems. Have the calipers ready to bolt up, remove the caliper, then the line, then quickly connect the line to the new caliper, no problems
