block heater for a gas motor ?

There are stick on and magnetic oil pan heaters and the aftermarket engine block heaters don't all have the thermostat in the plug. MIne was an OE factory cord that did but I modified it to energize whenever I plugged it in regardless of temperature. Also, NAPA sells replacement cords that don't have the thermostat and the OE cords are easily replaced. BTDT.

Most Canadian market trucks got them and a handful of northern states did too. I think it stopped being standard at some point though. I remember years ago using the truck builder and it had a list of states the block heater was standard in.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but if you can't locate a freeze plug, this job is over your head.
