Badass69 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Properly...... Remove the intake, heads and lifter valley cover. Replace the cover with a non afm unit( like from a 4.8), remove and trash the afm lifters and replace with normal ones, reassemble and have it tuned. Voila..... no more afm related issues ever.

Not saying we'll get it, but it is unique enough to what is out there. Not going to happen. A tune is all about performance and efficiency in one. Believe me, working for tuning companies and fighting warranty and emissions stuff all day is exhausting. Adam
DanJS10 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Just bought the V8 Range a few minutes ago and I'm excited to have it in my truck ASAP. Warranty is not an issue with me since it ended in Feb., but longevity of the drivetrain is. Now, I'm not saying the tranny or rear end will blow out if I have some of the torque management stuff removed but why take the risk. For me, all I want is the factory performance WITHOUT AFM. The V8 Range with easily give me what I want, regardless of MPG savings/loss, without spending $400 for a tuner/custom tune, or even down time from shipping off my ECU to a tuner.
