Fender flares on GMT 900 Silverado?

Morning,

I have a 2010 Silverado Extended Cab Z-71, 6.5' bed. 6.2 Liter, chrome (OEM) nerf bars, 2" levelling kit, etc. It is the Taupe Grey metallic color, with tinted windows. I swapped the OEM 18" Z-71 wheels for the 17" GMC wheels, to be different. That look is good for me... I like it much better, and actually DID NOT like the 18" wheels. There's just too many of them out there! The tires are also OEM - P265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler AT-S.

So, I wanted to make my truck look a little more aggressive... and have been kicking it around a bit. How could I make this work, and look different, but NOT stupid or gaudy. Using a little "found money," I ordered a set of textured fender flares from e-Bay. They are scheduled to be delivered on Monday - Christmas Eve.

What do y'all think.. how will this look? The seller has a 14-day return policy, but I'm not sure how that will work if I install them and then return them.

Can anyone (accurately) photoshop my truck with them?

Thanks in advance...

Signed,

Nervous Nellie

Thanks, Ryan.

$155 (e-Bay), and they have a 14-day return period.

I can honestly say one thing that I don't like about them... at all.

They do absolutely NOTHING to prevent road grime.

I had to take off my OEM mud flaps to put these on, and that just might be a deal-breaker!

I like them tho they seem small. But then again i want bushwacker pocket flares

Yea I see a few around with a style like those and you look the mudflaps

One reason why I haven't got them (had the factory ones on my 2000) is the z71 decal woul be cut off on mine

I think they look good. I'd take off the decal though. And you could get some aftermarket mudflaps that would mount up fine.

What brand of flares are they?

TimmyG - that's one reason that I like them, is they are not too big! Different strokes for different folks, huh?

RyanbabZ71 - yeah, the decal is a problem...

kstruckcountry - I want to say that they are "Performance," but I'm at work and the box is at home...

My opinion is take them off and send them back, with the GM fenders it looks like a fender flare on a fender flare. Now if your truck had wider wheels and tires that required them they might look ok. Keep in mind the lip touching the paint on the fender will rub the paint and chafe it unless theres a foam strip on the lip.

I am not a fan of fender flares, however they look very clean on your truck.

I'm not a fan so I would not use them but if you like it that is all that matters. Now if I had a wheel opening and those would cover it, then I would be all for them.

I notice that even with the GM splash guards, I get mud from the front tires clear up on the bed side due to the poor body design, even if not offroad.

Not a fan of fender flares on the GMT900's. May be if your tire and wheel combo where more aggressive and stuck out more they might look ok.

Kind of like this
