Rear blocks/rear shock question

Hey guys I just got a quick question. I just installed some 3" lift blocks on the back of my truck to get some rake back after my leveling kit. I kept the stock shocks. I had to compress the spring a little to get the shocks back on. I figured this wasn't a very smart idea, but I couldn't afford new shocks. I have driven it for a while, and it rides like crap. So it's time to upgrade the shocks. I know I need to get longer ones, but does anyone know how much longer? and what brands would you recommend?

Just curious why you took your shocks off to put on new blocks? My rear shocks are fine with the 3" blocks

 

Rancho has slightly longer shocks

I couldn't get enough space between the axle and the spring with the shock attatched. Taking it off was the only way to get it on

ready lift offers shock brackets that would be cheaper. if not just get shocks that are 2 inches longer

I opted for the ReadyLift brackets on both my trucks when I did rear blocks. The roads are not that great here and the ride was a little rough. The brackets returned the OEM ride and I no longer have to worry about bottoming out the shocks.

If the shocks are topped out, it will ride like hell. Extensions are one way to go, but the proper fix is shocks that fit.

I swapped the old keys for new ones, then adjusted the up a little and the factory shocks were maxed out even with the

shock extensions, So my question is do i go with 1-2.5" longer shocks with the extensions or go with 4" longer rancho,s

with the factory shock mounts?

thinking of pulling the rear blocks ??? stock tires - Just a street truck. what do you guy's think,and what kind of ride will i have.

Pulling the blocks will alter ride height but the spring rate is the same. You won't feel a difference.

Yes i know it change the ride hight, But a lot cheaper-then a front leveling kit
