They are both far too happy looking to be sleeping that close to another guy.......Pictures speak 1,000 words!

That picture looks about right for camping though, hiding from the rain!!

After about ten times like your friends pictured hiding from a down pour i now make use of every excuse in the book to now avoid the annual camping trip lol!

This is how my GF and I sleep comfortably in a truck. I used this tent on my Sonoma for years without issue. Plenty of headroom. Just got the new tent in for my Sierra. Can be had for $135 currently at AutoAnything. Its the Napier Backroads tent. The mattress that fits around the wheel wells is $109 from the same site. I have the AirBedz lite truck.

I've considered one of these too but one of my issues is where to store all of my coolers and other equipment.

That's the beauty of the other ground tent I have next to the truck in the picture. All the supplies get stored in a $35 tent. Cooler goes under the tailgate to keep cool. Once the truck tent is packed up to drive, everything EASILY fits right back into the bed and extended cab.

The downside is if you are the type to constantly drive around while out camping, taking the tent off whole can be a bitch.
