Trans temp Scanguage II

Recommended Posts

I finally got my Scanguage, hooked it up and it works great. All readouts seem accurate. However, I programmed in the code from their website to show the transmission temp and no dice. For some reason it won't give me a number, just TFT with a blank by it. Is there something obvious I could have missed? I put in all the characters correctly as far as I can see.

Try it again. I have a scan gauge and had to do all the input stuff, but it shows the trans temp along with a whole bunch of other stuff. Good luck.

Ok thanks. It's a great tool and I wish I'd gotten one sooner, I'm just going to have to check the codes with another site.

It's also got a cool HP thing too. Bottom line you have to play with it to see what four read outs you want showing all the time. I have the trans temp, instant mpg, intake temp, and coolent temp. It's funny on the coolent temp on the scanguage it will show a exact temp, and how it slowly starts to increase, but the factory guage is inaccurate from the get go.

I just use my tablet. If I use the large readouts I can see 8 things.

thats pretty cool, where do you find an app or program that does that?

Its an android app. I run it on both my phone and tablet. Its called Torque. It pairs with my Bluetooth OBDII adapter. It will show me different readings, HP, torque, 0-60, 0-100, 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile, you can turn on HUD mode and it mirrors the display so you can set it up on the dash and it reflects off the windshield

It will also read codes, explain them, tell you the most common problem for that code, and clear them

Got her going, I needed to add a 01 to the end of the #. This thing is sweet. Right now I have inst econ, trans temp, water temp, and intake temp on the screen.

Wife got me one for Christmas. Love it. Can't wait for summer to check out the performance gauges. Right now set on ignition timing, horsepower, boost and instant MPG.

Old topic, I know. I also have the Torque application on my Android for my 01 Silverado 2500 HD. I can't get the transmission temp to show. The factory Dash gauge appears to be functional. Did you have to do anything special to get it to show?

Don’t remember. That was set up like 6 years ago. And I haven’t used that setup in over 5 years. I switched to the Scangauge in a semi permanent mount in the console
