iPhone 5. Android is buggy/ not as smooth running OS

See post # 3. IOS6 has been nothing but buggy. The worst of which was falsely reporting a wifi connection as cellular data. That has been a widespread issue. Supposedly the latest update has resolved MOST of it. Beside that I really like the iPhone. This is my first one but I can't honestly say it is really any better than Android. Perhaps a tad more streamlined and user friendly.

I've always had iPhones since they came out just love the interface. It does everything I need it to and more. P.s. if you get a case buy it on Amazon. I bought my Otterbox for $23. Same one $60 in stores.

a case is a must in my line of work and that is one reason I am leaning more towards the iphone right now. my razr maxx in its otter box is big to the point of being uncomfortable but S3 is an even bigger phone. I just don't know if I could handle that. the iphone is much more compact and i wouldn't be sacrificing that much screen size.

The s3 is very thin and that lends itself to use a case

The Razr's are made with the Kevlar backing and gorilla glass in the front so you really should need a case per say but, I showed a few friends how well built my Razr maxx is by dropping the phone from the top of my head, I am 6'2, to the pavement and not a scratch when it hit, though I have put it through its paces and now has some scuffs on it from tossing it around lol, one thing I don't like it my ear phone jack has quit on me, has been a minor problem but other than that, best device I have ever owned so far!

I would not do that. I shattered my screen while it was in the otter box. I was sitting at a table and the phone fell off my lap and the screen it the table leg. Couldn't have been more than 2 ft

I've had zero issues with iOS6, even downloaded it before the general launch. I guess I just got lucky?

Freak accident you had, guess thats why I dont have the case for it, if the manufacture claims toughness and durability, I will def put it through the mill, and I have and currently still do....

I don't have a "smart" phone yet, but I looked pretty closely over the holidays. My pick right now is the Razr M. It's a nice size that fits in a pocket, w/ edge-to-edge screen... and it's Motorola (owned by Google, who develops Android). I'm not into the Apple/iOS stuff, so that matters I guess. The kids each have an ipod Touch, and they seem to work great, so I'm not saying it's bad. I just prefer Android design over the "static icons" of iOS. You also get more hardware per $ w/ Android. I bought my oldest a Nexus 7 for Christmas, and it's amazing. Way faster/sharper than the iPad mini's I've played with, for much less cost.

I picked iPhone as I've been happy with mine and will get the 5 when I can upgrade in a couple months. The SIII is a good phone but at this point it is old and I am sure Samsung has something new that will show up soon. I've never had good luck with the Motorola smart phones nor have most people I know who had one.

False, both are buggy. I have friends converting to android, android you aren't jailed to apple.

0 issues with IOS6 here. Can't say that for any of the 6 or so Android os's that I've had the pleasure of owning/dealing with.

Careful though. Just got an Otterbox for a co-workers 4S for him via my Amazon account and it was a knock off. Complete pos. Otterbox is taking care of it though but wanted all of the sellers info so they could go back on them.

Seriously? I have had zero issues over 3 IOS6 equipped phones, personally, and many more friends/family with 0 issues.

iOS 6 has the issue of making me reconnect to wifi after a few minutes of inactivity. Never had this problem with the old os.

Are you talking about how the phone is on cell until you wake it up and then it goes directly to wifi when you unlock it? Why would it need to be on wifi and cell while it is sleeping? That would use more battery. Only really needs to be on cell to watch for phone/text message stuff. Email doesn't use hardly any data.

You and I both, apparently.

It seems the issue primarily affected Verizon Customers (not all of them), but AT&T has reports as well. The latest update was supposed to correct any lingering issues related to this.

Something else worth considering may be the (nearly) universal support for the previous generation iOS interface. I don't think this matters so much today, with wide support for bluetooth, but it may if someone has an expensive "i dock" device. It's irksome that Apple made the decision to change their connectors w/ the latest devices, and still didn't use a standard micro-USB interface. They wanted to make sure that they could sell those overpriced adapters. They even put key chips in their new cables, to ensure that aftermarketers couldn't make cheap copies.

You hit the nail on the head music, that's why I won't have another iPhone. All their proprietary stuff annoys me, they can't just use the same connector that's been used by everyone for years.

And the issue I've been having with the wifi is that it will completely disconnect and I'll have to go to settings and click it each time. No big deal, it just gets old.
