It's out had to hammer on the knuckle to loosen it out. Bnl motorsports has my control arm and will be pressing in a new ball joint tomorrow morning I'll be putting this back together tomorrow.

Anyone else see why the part failed?.............

The joint is installed incorrectly. It's installed 90* off from the correct position. It needed to be rotated before being pressed in. The ball joint is marked to be installed in the correct orientation. The tire needs to move in and out at the top, the joint was unable to move in and out an thus broke from the stress.

If the other side is installed in the same way, it needs to be repositioned. Actually at this point I'd replace it with a new one, because the current one, if installed incorrectly, has been pushed to it's limit, just short of breaking

There is a tag/instructions on the joint in the box. It states:

This ball joint has an elliptical opening and requires specific orientation prior to pressing into arm. Incorrect assembly could result in loss of vehicle control due to part failure....

No idea what you're talking about

The "slot" needs to be running 90* from the position it currently is in. Simply put

It has to be situated so it has full movement in and out from the truck. Just the opposite of the way it was looks like.

So taper should point back rather than front
