Kmg, I love my truck and don't mind the miles to much!!! It is not like Ryans car only to be driven on pretty days!! (sorry Ryan) It is a tool to be used, just like a hammer or pencil or a button on some other type of equitment. I do work my Dmax at times but other times I just let her have her head and away we go. :jester:

Some people need their car toy, my wife got the bug too. About 15 years ago my wife bought a 2000 Acura Integra R, took 6 months to get it. She drove it about a year and a half to work. Then one day she says we needed to put it up its going to be the Hemi Cuda of the fast and furious crowd. I said yea ok dear if you say so. Hear we are 15 years later, I sell my collector car, she says five more years you will see. Im not laughing as much now. I must admit the little car is a blast to drive, its my job to take care of it.

Sitting at the dealership for an Abs light that keeps going on and off after the truck sits for a while. Thought it might have been because of a leak in the master cylinder or booster but apparently one of the front hubs went bad. Darn things aren't cheap. Also running booster is leaking but not enough to replace yet. The joys of ownership.

Find what? Who the heck is OPPO?

Well my primary job is a service tech for fixing vending machines but I had to cover for a driver who fills them cause he called in sick (go figure)... but yeah DC area has probably the worst overall traffic in the country

Nice. He's always telling me how bad it is trying to drive there. On top of that he drives the bucket truck lol!

Yeah I've driven box trucks into DC as well, never again though lol

Ever driven a big truck that is wider than the lanes on a 60 year old road? Fun fun!

Try driving these road's here in the UK. It's no wonder the insurance is INSANE out here. A million pounds min for property?? And UNLIMITED for MEDICAL!!!! They are insane out here!!! Also, if you happen to hit a horse out here, minimum, even if not your fault, is a million pounds itself and only goes up from there; Purebred horses used around the world for racing and whatever.........

Thanks. I'm quitting my job, and buying some horses up there that will accidentally get loose during rush hour.

So i asked FTS (company that makes my lift) if they had lower control arms that can be swapped in to make my turning radius better because the lift knuckles prevent tight turns. This was his response...

On my McGaughy's lift I had to do the same thing. I had to grind off the stops on the control arms. It did tighten the radius a bit but not all too much. Mine was also listed in the instructions too

    • I get the same results with pictures. Then I figure it out. Then I forget. Screw it.
    • I guess I'm the only one on this forum who can't get effing pics to load here! Do you have to resize them to post, or am I just blocked from uploads?   I have the same luck with automotive electronics ... but this is the ONLY site on the net that I have this problem!   I'd post pics of what I'm working on ... but I CAN'T! 🤬       Just fabbed up the kickdown cable (had to extend the cable mount WAAAY out from the throttle shaft to get a full pull), and parts arrived for the fuel lines on the 940 carb conversion project. Should be able to drive this thing by the end of the day. If not for work, I'd have had this thing done SIX weeks ago.   Got the jetting sorted out last week. Had a real bad tip-in bog that I couldn't seem to correct. Friggin float height was over 11mm too HIGH! eBay purchase, so no wonder everything is screwed up right out of the box! I ended up with a larger dual-squirt accelerator pump jet anyway instead of the single. Also moved the 70 primary idle jet (4 sizes too big out of the box) to the secondary idle circuit, and installed a 57 in the primary. Runs great on the fuel bottle!    Still using the computer for ignition. Going to drive it first and see if I want to go through the project of installing an intermediate shaft with a distributor drive gear, so I can install a block-mounted distributor and run points, 100% computer free. I should do that anyway just from a simplicity / reliability / tunability standpoint. The electronics left me stranded last year a couple times! I can't tweak the timing to my liking right now because of the computer. Tried twisting the cam-driven distributor already ... and the damned thing just reverts back to where it was! That's infuriating. But if it runs well enough I might save that for next season.   Just driving it in and out of the shop to work on other projects, it feels 1,000% more responsive with the carburetor. Also fires MUCH faster when cranking. Can't wait to drive it and see if I got more than 114 ponies, lolol.
    • Triumph makes me think of cars not bikes. Especially with model names like the TR7, that was a Triumph car model too. Peak TR for me was the TR250. You could retain the post-war roadster looks, with an optional surrey hard top, but with an inline 6 engine instead of the TR4's anemic 4-cylinder, but still have a 4 speed, optional overdrive.   I know almost nothing about Triumph bikes, except that they exist. Good looking bikes though.   I don't know if I could just have one vehicle. The Silverado does it all except for fitting anywhere. But it leaves a void in real driving enjoyment, unless driving an extremely large sofa is your thing.   What did I do to my 'other' (muslce car - which one!?) vehicle lately. I took my '23 SS for a drive. It's only got 1600 miles. I keep reminding myself I shouldn't be so precious about this car. It likes to be driven. Needs to be driven. Life is short and if I don't enjoy it, someone else will. The other half calls it "the garage ornament".
    • Hey everyone, Thought we’d share our 40" SLIM Light Bar setup for the 2022+ Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for anyone looking at behind-the-grille lighting options.   The 40" bar sits behind the lower factory grille, so it stays pretty well hidden when it’s off. The mounting position is also adjustable, which helps with getting the bar positioned properly depending on the grille.   A few details on the setup:   40" SLIM LED light bar Fits 2022–2026 Silverado 1500 Spot + flood beam pattern White, amber, or white with amber DRL backglow Adjustable mounting position No cutting or drilling required Doesn't interfere with the active grille shutters Vehicle-specific mounting brackets       It’s a straightforward option for anyone who wants the coverage of a 40" bar but prefers to keep the front of the truck relatively stock-looking. Curious what the Silverado owners here prefer — hidden behind-the-grille lighting or an exposed bumper-mounted setup?
    • Yes. Absolutely. That doesn't mean I don't like and enjoy a variety of machines. I went for a time with no other vehicle than a 1976 Triumph TR7-V Tiger. Loved that bike and rode it 365 in any and all weather. I did not feel deprived of anything.
