There was a story on the local news that made me lol. A guy was seen power washing two small dogs at a car wash. Police show up and try to get him to stop but he doesn't. After arresting him, his defense was "I'm from California so I don't know any better"

Oh boy ... And we wonder why our presidential candidates suck ...

That could work for NY, MA, RI, CT, NJ, MD, DE and Chicago, IL too. :D

I was bsing with a salesman today waiting on truck in service. I tell him my 2010 with 770,000 diesel 2500 is worth 18k. He saids hell no. Looks it up on NADA and it shows its worth 20k.

Gotta love salesmen!

I'll never forget checking out a front-load washing machine when they first came out. Was browsing a store in Worcester just to pass some time - at that time I couldn't afford new anything if my life depended on it. I reach in this Maytag and spin the drum - can hear water splashing around inside the drum where it cannot be seen. I say, "Ah, this one's been used - can hear the water".

He says to me, "Oh that's not water - they all make that sound - look, it's bone dry".

WOW!! Entertaining, at least.

He's is a decent guy. Mid 20s served over seas. Walks with a limp. I would gladly buy a truck from him if a needed another one.

But he said no way will any one pay 18K for a 770k mile truck. I agree, it's worth more to me and more profitable for me to keep the truck.

Just an FYI to those who were interested in my dad's '09 Duramax - he's decided to trade it in on a Ford or Ram, so it's no longer for sale. Thanks for the interest.

What's with these people that think weight loss is some secret magical formula? I hear the most asinine conversations too often. You eat calories, you burn calories. If you burn more than you eat, you lose weight. My favorite are the people that imply medical conditions that they seem to think makes your body teleport food to their stomach. Anyone remember that old famous springer episode, I think the guy that was trying to say A bad thyroid made him gain 900 pounds. Uh, not when your 5 feet tall.

Ugh, since I transferred to this less physical job I hate that I have to eat less. Want more cookies!

My friend bought one of those new Ford aluminium trucks even though there was nothing wrong with his 2012, ( He's like that, nothing wrong with his iphone six either but he needs the 7 ) Ford has decided to take back the truck and to give him a new one. He took it in to the dealer thinking the sun roof was leaking, but it was the actual roof seams that came unglued. RAM maybe if he doesn't mind replacing ball joints and suspension parts every year. Frankly if he's going with an other diesel he'd be way ahead to get an other DuraMax unless he doesn't do a lot of miles. Diesels have to roll to stay reliable.

Nope - no more diesels for us. Government has killed them.

If I were to pay $65 LARGE for a damn truck, I had better be able to modify the thing to my liking. This emission crap really pisses me off.

Trucks, cars, washers, dryers, refrigerators - all junk today. Better off building something 44-70 years old yourself. My dad has busted his ass his entire life - he's just going to buy another new one, and dump it when the warranty runs out. Waste of money, IMO, but it's his money.

YOUR government. Oklahoma hasn't done that crap for years. Too bad our roads are crap though. 6 years ago they swore they were going to pass a bill to do Taxes like Texas does(more sales, no income). They still haven't figured out how. We have a wierd knack for electing people who change nothing.

I know most states don't bother with emissions testing. That's the America I remember! Freedom of choice.

Imagine that concept in the Northeast. We have a weird knack for electing democrats, decade after decade ...

If you think the roads are bad there, you ought to take a run down MA highways. Don't put a drink in the cupholder without a lid - you've been warned.

    • I went through again with a test light and everything checked out.    I suppose it could be the MAF itself but I've tried 3 different sensors, 2 of which were in running vehicles previously (the one in this truck, and the one in the donor truck), as well as a new one I picked up from NAPA. I would just be surprised if all 3 were bad.   EDIT/UPDATE: I swapped in the MAP sensor that was originally with the 2010 PCM, that made the code for map sensor voltage high Go away, and the map sensor seems to read normal with key on engine off (14psi or so), but it still doesn't run and does the same thing as before.
    • In addition to a cell or wifi connection, the infotainment needs to be enabled to download software updates. That's a toggle within the system settings.   But...if the truck was prevented from receiving updates in a past life, missing a bunch of updates may mean it won't go back and download all of those because they're not available or the system is too far out of date.   If a formal recall depends on a software update, the recall for that truck remains in an open status until it's applied. The dealer would need to apply the software update in that instance.   Most updates downloaded and applied via the infotainment aren't recalls/safety recalls, they're enhancements and usability fixes which aren't critical.
    • Recently I've been getting a message, "New Brake Pads Detected. Reset Brake Pad Life?", But I haven't had the pads replaced and the truck only has 28,000 miles. The Brake Pad Life shows Front 64% and Rear 79%. I select NO to resetting the brake pad life and the message goes away but comes back at the nest restart.   I stopped by the dealer and was told that it sounds like a software glitch that would require reprogramming. Even though I have the extended warranty, they tell me that reprogramming is not covered unless a module was actually bad and needed to be replaced. Simply reprogramming is not covered. So, they want $200.00 just to diagnose the problem. If it turns out no bad module, another charge on top of that to do the reprogramming. If the cause was an actual bad module, everything would be covered under the warranty.   Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Should this issue be covered under the warranty?   Thanks
    • NHT is diesel only, correct.     The GVWRs for NHT on 3/4 ton bring them to the same numbers as many of the 2WD 1 tons.  A crew 4x4 standard 3/4 with NHT is 11,750lbs, a 1 ton same cab/box/4x4 is 12,100lbs.     Hubs and hub bearings are the same for 11.5" and 12" axles.  Housing, diff carrier and ring/pinion are larger for the 12".   All gas use the 11.5" axle, 3/4, 1 ton and 1 ton DRW.
