I know most states don't bother with emissions testing. That's the America I remember! Freedom of choice.

Imagine that concept in the Northeast. We have a weird knack for electing democrats, decade after decade ...

If you think the roads are bad there, you ought to take a run down MA highways. Don't put a drink in the cupholder without a lid - you've been warned.

Oh this is great, people just keep answering.

There are a few answers sprinkled in where people prefer lower quality streaming to owning a disc(bit rate on a UHD disk playing is 40-50Mbps, 4K streaming maxes around 12Mbps), but otherwise the same thing reworded a hundred different ways.

What's a disk? :-P. I don't stream anything only pirating by downloads for me. Plus they're console people, they don't even know what 1080 or 60 fps is let alone 4k.

On a more serious note though, wtf really? No 4k Blu-ray player? Wasn't that one of the selling points of the ps3 is that it could play Blu-rays while the 360 you had to buy a separate thingie. Fun part is how many people act up have a 4k TV. My favorite is how the movie industry has basically adopted a resolution for 4k while the TV industry has adopted a different resolution as 4k. Yeah figure that one out.

Let's be honest, how many people can tell the difference between 4k and 1080p? I'm not much into tv's and consoles and all the different resolutions anymore because 1) I don't have time 2) I don't have the money and 3) I still have a 360 and ps3, and barely use them at that. If I can stream Netflix like once or twice a month when me and my gf stay in on the weekend that's good enough for me lol

Quit buying new trucks and quads and then you would have the extra money

Lol I never ended up getting a SxS, yet. Quad is almost paid off, 2 more payments! I don't use my TV or consoles enough to care too much honestly

Mine is a tax write-off. It is for my work and the "waiting area"

If anyone wants to know, I've had all the major streaming boxes except apple TV.

Roku has by FAR the best app selection. Get a higher level one and you'll be happy for years, in just need to reset to from time to time. It has all the apps, from Amazon to Vudu to Google Play to the good kids channel apps. It's like the Switzerland of streaming boxes. It holds its own and everyone likes them, but not the strongest or coolest. The Roku 4 was really the first product that blew it, and they are now releasing a new one that fixes the issues soon.

nVidia Shield is the most rewarding to use IMO. It's overpowered, and does and plays nearly everything. doesn't have a hiccup unless an app or your network has a problem. What sucks is app selection, Android TV is just being ignored, and no Amazon streaming app will probably ever be available.

I have the newest Amazon FireTV and the first gen Fire stick. You can look at every device amazon has ever made and they range from underpowered to a more than adequate, but never the best specs, it seems like planned obsolescence IMO, the stick had bad wifi from the start, and after a year it really struggles. But, Voice search is fantastic. App selection is hit and miss, amazon app store is holding it back. And with its custom Android interface, it's never the fastest or the smoothest even with the Fire TV. No Vudu for your Ultraviolet library.

I'm looking to replace the roku 3 with an Apple TV soon and possibly adding a Mac mini to the living room tv

I've been happy with the Apple TV. Been good. The lack of competing apps is only a minor hinderance since you can port stuff from your iPad or whatever using AirPlay.

Lack of what apps? I use Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and amazon video

Apple TV won't support Hulu or Amazon natively. You'll have to play them off another iThing.

Guess I won't be going with Apple TV then. It's that simple.

    • Even tougher is the 5.0 / 302. That's what this one has.    https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   https://postimg.cc/4n3F3yzY   Just realized I had the airbox removed in the engine pic, lol.
    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
