I drove past this truck like 5-6 times and finally pulled in and had to look at it, Its an 04 silverado 2500hd 4X4, 8.1, allison, crew cab, longbed, lt, heated leather seats, onstar, 'bose, ETC... has a brake controller with a gooseneck ball in the bed, tires '265,s' half tread

the winshield says "high miles" So i went in to get the keys.. Its at 228,945 miles I drove

it and it felt great! accelerated great, stopped great, steering felt good, oil & trans fluid looked good So he says $6500 I said ill bring you $5800 cash.. He said 'ill go 6000 thats it'

So i agreed.. Shook his hand and gave him $200 bucks to hold it. I looked on Kbb and nada

this truck even with the miles is worth between 8-12,000.. So I felt it was honestly a great deal! Its also a 1 owner!.. The original sticker was on the seat and in 04 the guy paid

$44,110.. Im gonna go over the basics and do some preventitive maintenance.. Cant wait to

get it mon,.. Let me know what you guys think..

Its red with tan leather/interior,

That's alot of miles but being a 1-owner truck means that it has most likely been well maintained. That's probably a good buy! Had it been multiple owners I would have stayed away from it...

For those who commented on miles.. 200,000 these days really isnt bad 'If' taken care of, I know guys with 8.1,s

over 400,000 ! Hit the key and they go everyday!

Again it valued at $10,000 trade in on nada

And close to $12,000 kbb private party..

So at $6000 even anybody would have been nuts to pass it up, IMO

I think really Im going to take the 8.1 out of my truck with the raylar cam and other stuff w/ 110,000 And stick it in the silverado.. then take the high mile 8.1 and tear it down..Go 30 over with it, check the crank, new pistons,

rods, Raylar cam and heads, Etc.. Then put that one back in my white sierra after i get the allison built up a

little.

Thanks.. I know, miles these days really dont bother me. I may look into an aftermarket auto warranty to

cover the drivetrain and such

good price and a nice find, but i personally wont buy a vehicle with that high of miles either

Why are people so concerned with miles?

Look at it this way- You got a 10-12,000$ truck for 6000 So you drive it.. And drive it. Keep up with maintenance!

Keep driving it And it last over 300,000, If not..And a year or two later it needs motor work and you go out of

pocket 2-3000$ your still under its value.

Do this math.. Keep track of your mileage and give yourself $.50-.75 a mile and see where your at after 1-2 yrs of using it everyday!
