285/75/16's?

I have a 98 GMC Z71 that is at stock height. No body or suspension lift, no torsion key cranking, factory stock. It's currently running on 265/75/16's and I found a great deal on some 285's, I've been told by a few other resources that I could run them with no rubbing at all. What'd y'all think? HELP.

your going to have to raise the front slightly, Atleast an 1" so theres no rubbing.. Also depends on the tire..Some 285,s are 32.8" And ive seen some that are 33/33.1"

This truck had 285/75/r16 Dayton Timberline AT with Dick Cepek 16x8's. No lift whatsoever. It did rub a tad when turning sharp and hitting a hole at the same time but I fixed that with a rubber mallet...

It will be close. As stated, it will probably come down to the specific tire that is used....and how much the truck has settled over the years. If needed, just crank the t-bars up a little.

We just fit them on my friend's truck he bought for his kid, 1996 ext cab Z71. He put 285/75/16 Duratracs on factory wheels and we had to crank about an 1" to 1.5" so it wouldn't rub at all. Problem is he is looking for a rear block now becuase the front looks higher than the back, it is by about a half inch. I forgot how level those trucks sat back in the day.
