2003 Silverado 1500HD Differential Oil

For a 2003 Silverado 1500 HD, what do you recommend for the differential oil? I had already purchased some Redline for a bout $9 per quart, but I am having second thoughts about using it because it has the limited slip additive already in it, and I was advised not to use it. At the dealership, the GM diff oil is $38 per quart. I think that's way too much, so I was wondering what is a good non GM diff oil recommendation.

Also, just curious, what exactly will, or could, happen if I use a diff oil with the additive, e.g., Redline?

Thanks,

George

Use Royal Purple, Mobil 1, Valvoline, or Amsoil. The synthetic stuff.

I use synthetic lube without limited slip additive like I mentioned in my other post. I ran Mobil 1 Delvac 75W90 for ages with the gov lock and now with my Detroit I run 75W 140 Amsoil.... because I happened to have 3 bottles of it.

I used the Mobil 1 synthetic diff fluid when I did mine a little while ago. Just remember NO limited slip additive.
