the curb weight on a new Crew cab short box 4x4 duramax 2500 is 5950 lbs. crazy that a half ton weighs the same!! no wonder they get poop for mileage.

Where you getting your numbers? Chevy's website shows that the 2014 Silverado 2500 Crew Cab, 4x4, Duramax is 7300 lbs!

The 6.0 is 6400 lbs.

For reference, the difference in the standard tune to the e85 tune was roughly 1/2 second in the 0 - 60 run and roughly 1/2 second in the 1/4 mile as well

Too bad my 2013 6.2 doesn't take E85. I would see a 13 seconds pass bone stock on E85. I ran 14.38 on 10% ethanol. Mine is only an extended cab. Title weight is listed at 5200#.

The 6.2 in the trucks should be E85 compatible.

You should be fine to run E85. My 2009 6.2L can definitely run E85, I still have the FlexFuel badge on the tool bench in my garage, haha. And it has a yellow "E85 Compatible" gas tank cap.

You can't get the 2500's in a dually configuration. It seems that the GMC specs are incorrectly listing the details for the 2014 HD's.

Both the Canadian GMC and Chevy websites show 7300 lbs for the Crew Cab, 4x4, Standard Box 2500 as well with a Duramax:

I think you guys are correct. I found E85 on my gas cap. Says with E85 not to use additives. May be able to run a 14.28 or so with E85 under the same conditions.

I don't understand where all the weight comes from on the newer trucks. My 2006 comes in at 5400. And that's with the bumper.

More safety stuff, insulation, electronics. It all adds up.
