Are there any good 4 inch lifts? I was looking into the Fabtech budget 4in. Any information on this one? Good? Bad?

Brettls1 is runing the Fabtech 4". He might be able to provide some more insight. His truck is posted about 5 pages back. I was able to look at his truck in person a couple days ago and angles are less that what i had with a 2.5" level on my 2013, didn't look bad at all.

How did the ball joints and tie-rod ends look?

They really didn't look bad. The kit comes with control arms and the ball joints looked fine. The tierod's had a little more angle than i would like but they weren't extreme. The CV' s looked good with only a little angle. Maybe he will put some pics up. I wouldn't think you would have any issues unless you beat it up offroad a good bit. Edited by CAtaylor

Neither of those are any good. They are a stretched out leveling kit. Your ride quality will suffer and could cause premature front end problems like ball joints, cv axle... Not saying they are a terrible kit, I'd just look into something with a full drop.

The Fabtech 4" budget relocates the front differential to keep proper CV angles. It also replaces the stock control arms with more heavy duty control arms. How is that a stretched out leveling kit?

So I have a new 2014 sierra cc short box Z71 and trying to decide how to beef it up. Level? Lift? Tire size? Etc. I am coming off an 03 Dmax 6" w/35's and don't want to go that big with a gas motor. I have the 5.3 w/ 3.42 rear. I want to keep it in the garage so I'm thinking Ready lift 4" sst will be max. Anyone gave this lift? Any pics? Any issues?

personally I just went with a cognito motorsports leveling kit(because the're local and i support them) and put 18x9" wheels and 285/70 toyo open country tires and called it good, I think it looks more aggressive for sure but didn't dump a ton of money into it and stock they ride like a dream anyways so I didn't want to sacrifice. To me a 4' lift looks like every other truck dealers put a lift on and sell off the showroom floor and i'm not about that. anyways here is what my truck looks like.

Looks good! Agreed on keeping the factory ride. I have owned many trucks and this thing is by far the quietest/tightest ever!!!

I have seen a few trucks here that combine a RC 2" lift with a Zone 1.5" body lift. Are there any concerns I should look for if I go with this combination? What is the best tire size, offset, etc.

You will have no problem with combining a suspenion lift with a body lift.

I am lost!!! 2014 sierra cc short box z71.

Please forgive me if this topic has been covered!

Could someone please explain the differences, good points, bad points, ETC between RC, ready lift, fab tech, and TC with regards to a 4" lift? Why such a $$ difference. Someone told me RC was garbage and to go with RL but I sure do see a ton of trucks here with RC. Also considering a level/1.5 body lift combo. I have changed my mind about 300 times. I will hopefully have this truck for 8-10 years so want to make a solid choice. Any info and/or pics will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Not to thread jack, but I guess I'm in between the leveled and suspension lift threads from a height perspective. I went with the 2.5" level + 1.5" Body Lift and have a total of $240 in 4"s of lift. Install was easy, retains warranty (at least according to my dealer), and is reversible unlike cutting up the crossmember for a full suspension lift. Can't go wrong with this setup in my opinion.

Man that looks good and your the second that I have seen here with that combo. My concern is how the rear looks with the gap between the hitch and rear bumper.

Unlike the old trucks and 3" BLs the new 14s with the 1.5" BL you can't even really tell IMHO. And my bumper white so it would be the most noticeable

Beautiful truck, nicely done! Are you planning to paint the tailgate handle?
