So question about these options/upgrades during checkout on the Zone 6.5 lift. So i called my local shop and they are about 1.5weeks out from any new installs so if i could have them do it, it would be sometime after thanksgiving..So i figured id check and see online and looks like i could get the lift in before thanksgiving and i could install over the holidays..

So my question is on the shocks and add leaf.. what benefits will i get by choosing either the nitro or the fox? Is it worth selecting either over the hydro?

And on the rear leaf, no mention on their site, but on my 2011 F150 i did a rear add leaf along with a leveling kit and on that setup, they stated the rear leaf would allow an additional XXX lbs of payload you could carry.. (this was not a Zone lift on that truck, but curious if there is any benefits of adding the leaf) besides getting a true level look.

So seems i have the stamped version, any chance a 1/4" spacer would allow me to keep using my stock rims or will i need to get new rims?

A 1/4” spacer wasn’t enough on mine

Did you go with new rims or thicker spacers? I was ready to buy lastnight and do the install myself, but now i need to find rims that will work before i lift the truck and find out i cant use mine..

I went with different wheels. I run Forces in the summer, but i had planned on running my stocks in winter. I wound up having to buy cheap chrome wheels for winter.

Those rear leafs are meant more if you're towing.  As far as shocks if I was you I would just get fox shocks from cognitomotorsports.com I have had the nitro shocks, adventure from fox, but the ones from cognito are way better. I am running fox coils up front and shocks on the rear

So here is what my control arm looks like.. So Are the rear shocks that come with the kits or upgraded if chosen longer? Can the existing ones not be used at all?

I will def be towing(project cars and just hauling trailer for misc stuff)

Also found that the stock rims i have are 5 19/32 backspacing on them, the lift calls for 5 3/4 back spacing so shouldnt the 1/4" spacer work?

Ive literally have the kit in the shopping cart and ready to place the order, just wanted to clarify a few things before i order

My latest questions are on the backspacing of the stock rim and using a 1/4" space to get me the 5.75" recommended by Zone

and the shocks..

It may work but i wouldn’t consider it a guarantee

Well i bit the bullet and purchased the Zone lift this morning. According to Zone customer service freight typically takes about 3 or 4 business days down to houston. Hope that works out and arrives before the holiday so i have something to do on my time off..

My local dealership does not void the warranty on the truck because of the lift. I asked several service guys including the service manager at two dealerships nearby. They don't warranty the parts I put on; however, they don't void all the stuff that's still from the factory. Legally, they can't void the warranty unless they can prove that the lift is the reason for the failure.

Like others have said, you can get a 360plus warranty, included for free, with the purchase of a Zone or BDS lift. It's a 5 year powertrain warranty that matches the mileage of the factory powertrain warranty. I have a 2014 so the warranty is good for 5 years or 100k mi. The warranty only covers up to $5k in powertrain in the event GM can prove the lift caused a powertrain failure and they do not honor their warranty.

I have had my truck 3 years, 42k miles and the 6" lift with 35s has been on half that time. No issues yet.

Voided my warranty. They had gm put a block on my warranty. Engine blew had to pay $5300 out of pocket for replacement. Then had to get a lawyer to fight for my money back which I got

Finally got my lift installed. 6.5” zone with 35x12.50 Ridge Grapplers on stock 20’s. No spacer needed with cast steel UCA.

My GMC dealer told me I could put the lift put on and they were cool with it, but wouldn't warranty the parts, obviously.  He also said that the GM rep for my area was hard on people who installed lifts, level kits, and programmers.   He would pull the warranty if he came into the shop and an "altered" truck was being worked on under warranty.  It didn't matter what the problem being worked on was.  Kinda, put the kibosh on my plans.
