do you let your truck run before driving?

Does letting your truck run, to get the motor lubed good before driving, help keep a motor peppy?

Definately wont hurt.In winter, I let mine warm till the temp needle starts to move. In the summer, I just make sure the oil pressure gauge is up to normal pressure and let her rip.

In summer I let it idle till the revs come down .In winter I have remote start so it warms both the motor and interior before I get out there about 10 minutes.

I always use remote start as I'm walking to the truck. That gives it 10 seconds or so.

That is so horrible for the engine.

It gets very cold ans snowy here, I at least use the remote start on my walk to the truck.

I let mine run for a few minutes every morning when it first gets cranked and if its been sitting for a while. it doesn't like to just cold start and go any more

Same here, like to get the oil flowing, and the thermostat open.

 

I remote start the vehicle 5 minuets before driving it.

I always let my truck warm up in the garage...I'm getting... yawn... sleepy.

 

I'm fortunate to have a climate controled garage. The water temps are close to the shops ambient temperature of 75 degrees.

i start and by time i put cell phone down after turning on i get going. winter maybe a minute depends on how cold it gets in seattle. ha ha

Always even in hot weather, it's always a good idea IMO. I NEVER tromp on it until it's fully up to temp, always make sure turbos are good and warm, oil is flowing. I have two gauges that measure oil pressure in the crank and one that measures pressure going thru the turbos.

 

Cool down is a must as well, I never ever shit it off until EGT gauge hits 350* in fact I have a turbo timer set at 350 as well.
