I filled up with E85 a couple weeks ago for the first time. I got the tank as close to empty as I possibly could. I found out about a Speedway gas station that wasn't too far away from my location.

I have a bit over 36,000 mile on my truck, and have ran 93 octane from day one.

I noticed a power difference right away with the E85. Very noticeable to me anyway. Much more response with a lot less pedal. The mileage suffered for sure. I was averaging 18.5 with the 93 doing mainly town driving and very little highway. I have dropped 4 mpg with the E85 doing the same type of driving.

I'm thinking with the much cheaper E85 and lesser mpg, over the better mileage higher priced 93, it works out to pretty much be a wash. But I really like the E85 power for sure though.

The speedway in Youngwood? That's the same one I use for E. I'm at 13.7 driving I70 everyday from Greensburg to Charleroi.

No.

There is a new one in Baden.

I just got 14.5 on my last tank, very happy with that @ 1.39 a gallon.

Yeah, the lower mpg numbers are not a pleasure to see, but when one calculates the actual cost per mile, even with lower mpg E85 can be a big win. All depends on location in the country and the price spreads between fuels. One of the major reasons I like having a flex fuel engine. I can change fuel selections as seasonal price changes occur and run the fuel that provides the lowest cost per mile.

$1.39 is a very good price. It is running around $1.58 in Iowa. But then, the state slapped a 10 cent fuel tax increase across the board a little over a year ago.

Exactly, well put.

.117 cost per mile with e85 for me, around 11k miles logged.

.136 cost per mile on premium.

Also, I almost always use coupons for gas. .10 per gallon usually.

Local newspaper ads, and every station around here accepts competitive coupons. Double coupons on Tuesday as well ;)

Today is the last day SA will double coupons, they are under new ownership again in MN.

Cool, good to know. I haven't gotten gas there in a while. Holiday used to match the double coupon on Tues as well (didn't make public statement on it, I just asked them). I always go to holiday though, the e85 there is the best, 79% alcohol. They match all the regular coupons as well.

My buddy Carl and owner of CJ tunes hooked me up with a tune last night finally! Transmission shifting feels a lot better for sure! It might be faster but I am immune to stuff now due to owning a 1300hp twin turbo car.

My 6.2 is now corn fed, no more ridiculous premium gas prices for this guy unless I am forced to! WHOO

Awesome!

You'll love filling up at $1.45 a gallon :).

Oh, and let me know how that 6.2 does for MPGs on the corn.
