Recent Cruze Recall

I don't know if this is true or not but when I was in school the shop teacher said we should refer to it as a parking brake because calling it an e-brake would infer it is something to be used in an emergency and since plenty of clueless types go years with never using the parking brake it may not work in an emergency.

Well, there are actually two types of these braking mechanisms, one is in fact, an e-brake, the other is an parking brake. My truck states that I have an parking brake which would include the (P) symbol on the lever to release my parking brake. Being that one probably wouldn't be smart enough to hold the lever and pump such brake would automatically deduce it from being an emergency brake unless one completely locks the rear brakes which could be just as dangerous as not. Failure in my assessment.

 

Rented one last month.

 

Nice build quality.

 

But other then that it fails. My 1976 Chevette was more comfortable.

 

Black interior. Why is GM still stuck on all black? Shows the dirt/dust to easily.

Seating position. Can't put left arm on sill. Too high. Arm rest too short.

Seats are hard and small.

An odd ignition key. What's the point of making such an odd key?

Gauges are upside down. Returned to rental agency after I filled up with gas. Told I had to pay for a full tank. I had to advise the rental person that gauges are upside down. That car was full.

 

Not a car I would ever purchase. Nice try though.

We have not received a recall notice yet. I guess it is a matter of time. I'm interested in the diesel Cruze when it makes it to a local dealer here in NC. Curious as to it's performance over the 1.4l.

Thanks for posting this information......I have 2 Cruze's at home and haven't received anything from GM to date. Hopefully they will send something out, they didn't hesitate to send a notice wanting to hack the crap out of the skid plates.
