Tow Assist Won't Accelerate???

Took the boys boating last week and was pulling my boat back home. Vehicle was fully loaded with 6 people and was pulling my boat/trailer approx 4000lbs. We approached and began ascending a hill travelling at approx 85 kph, air conditioning was on, as was my tow/haul button. I hit the accelerator and the truck would hold speed, but would not accelerate, it would not gear down. RPM's would not come above 3000???

I was so upset by this, that I went back later to try the same hill, the exact same thing happened...Thoughts?

I would like to try without the tow/haul on to see what happens. I will have my boat out again this week and will keep you posted.

Sounds like you have a 5.3L instead of a 6.2L under the hood.

 

Because 5.3s have a redline half that of a 6.2. Grow up and stop derailing topics.

My old vmax did that when I was hauling a heavier load. Getting rid of tourque management solved the problem. Maybe its cranked a little high on these new D.I V8s

I am on topic. Go back and re-read the posts. Sounds like he has the 5.3 and that is what it does on newer trucks.

 

Ur telling me in tow haul, you floor it at 85km/h and it doesn't downshift and rev passed 3 grand won? Get with it buddy.
