Just looking at the Build and Price page for these little fellows and it does show avaliable leather seats. Does not show if they are heated though..... With out heat they would be damn cold on the butt!

Except you probably can't add factory heated seats like you can with the GMT-900.

Katskin have a heated seat kit that they sell with their seat covers. Then with the Katskins you could get a little more imaginative than plain old black leather. GM needs to get more imaginative with their leather interiors like Ford does! I love the Brick Red seats that you can get in Ford trucks!

For me the deal breaker would be that tiny radio screen in the space designed for the 8" Mylink. It just looks retarded, like an aftermarket kit from Crutchfield or something. With the way everything is integrated I'm not sure if you could swap it out either.

I agree. GM always does something stupid like this! You really ahve to wonder how much imagination these guys have.

I agree that it doesn't look NEAR as good as the 8 inch....but it isn't as bad when you see it in the truck.

It's much better than the standard radio in the 07-13's.....but not as nice as the 8 inch Mylink obviously !

I talked to a car stereo place I deal with all the time and the harnesses and kits are being completed now....should be out very shortly !

You still should be given the option for either radio when you buy the truck.

I still disagree with that, I drove an LT crew cab with the little radio and it looked so out of place. I kept staring at it while driving, wondering why they did such a thing. Good to hear there will be aftermarket options, it's a shame that has to be done on a brand new truck, especially when the MyLink radio is also integrated with the little screen in between the guages. I would assume an aftermarket head unit would make the audio functions in that screen worthless. Take a look at the LS Equinox with the base radio, the dash piece in the middle is different and fills up that space. It doesn't scream "I bought the base model!!"

Now here's the upgraded radio.

It's a shame the base radio sticks out like a sore thumb in the trucks.

I can't say 100%, but I would be surprised if the aftermarket harness didn't work through the (gauge display) DIC just like the factory unit.

If this radio was available ONLY on the very base work truck I could understand it better than getting it on a $38,000 regular cab....don't like that one bit with no other options.

It's funny even though it is tiny it has lots of great features but the display is just toooo small.....don't know why they ever chose to even offer that radio honestly.....but it still beats the functionality I had on my 07 until I put a Nav unit in it.

I have a kid on the way now so I needed a crew cab this time around. If that wasn't the case, as much as I love regular cabs (my last two trucks were RC's), I'd have a hard time buying a regular cab over the double cab this generation. Hell, if you upgrade to an LTZ double cab, you'll be able to get the 6.2 later this year. I just can't imagine spending $38k on a truck that you can't get with the options you want. I do understand the whole garage space issue, now my truck has to sit in the driveway cause it's too damn long. Just something to think about.

I just don't see that happening, the software on the aftermarket head unit would have to work with GM's software. They might be able to get the steering wheel controls to work but that's sometimes difficult.

The space above the base equinox radio is a small storage area. I don't think they have space for that on the truck dash or it would look out of place.

It'll be something to watch in the next few months....I know if I was buying a new truck I'd put a hard roll up Pace Edwards cover on it and change the radio probably right off the bat.

I'll keep checking with my radio guys and see what they say as they get in the parts.....I haven't seen a aftermarket kit *lately* that didn't duplicate how well it integrated with the factory set up.

I'm curious what they figure out. Here's some of the things the DIC does with the radio.

Yeah, I'm familiar with it. My wife's car is a 2013 Nox. I was just using it as an example.

I saw a few of those things when we test drove one last week....That's what's so confusing even though the radio screen is small in size it's still pretty fancy !

Just wish it had the bigger screen to match the bigger functions....I have a 6 inch in mine now and that 4.2inch is quite a bit harder to see.

Who knows maybe for 2015 they'll fix it.
