I think kids would be fine in a double cab, no?

My kids have no issues, 7 & 10, other than fighting with each other...brothers lol. Adults won't have too much to complain about either unless they are back there for hours.

Also GMC-AT I think I had you beat by a week or so ;-) Nice truck man, love the all terrain.

Very sharp looking truck! I have not seen the extended cabs on the lot yet. Just curious; how much "less expensive" is the dbl cab compared to the crew? Is the box longer that the crew? Sharp looking with the exterior door handles too.

Generally speaking.. the equally equipped Crew cab is around 3K more. My bed is the 6 1/2 ... not sure what the crew cabs have.. I know one is short and one is long.

Crew is standard with the short box at 69.33"/5.7775'

Double comes with the standard box at 78.87"/6.5725'

There is an option to put the standard box on the Crew.

And if anyone was wondering the Long box is 97.77"/8.1475'

What is a real bed? You can get a GM crew cab with the 6.5' bed as well as Ford. Only 8' bed on a GM now is regular cabs.

I've had 2 short beds and despise them and still miss my 8ft bed on my '73. The extended cabs come (or will come soon) with 8ft beds in the half tons which is probably I'll end up getting if I don't stick with a 2500, which I don't need. Then again I don't see myself getting another truck in any foreseeable time frame.

*edit* I forget there is a new definition of short bed. I keep forgetting since I don't accept the existence of the under 6' bed so short bed = 6.5. I don't even know what the actual length is for the other "bed." Again all personal opinion, just like butt holes everyone has one.

Nice truck! I ordered my crew cab with the same color combo. I just talked to the dealer today and they are going to add a 1.5" leveling kit and buy back the crappy Goodyears for $500 and mount 285/55/20 Terra Grapplers. Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer!

From what I can see it is about 3 grand or less difference. Have your dealer build one for u.

There is no 8' bed on extended cabs. It's not listed as an option at all on the web sites. Even before you could build a double or regular cab, they were just listed, just not available.

Really? Well crap. I guess no 1500 for me then. Fail

Wait are the double cabs replacing the extended cabs or are they going to sell 4 different cab types now?

Yes, double has already replaced extended cab

OK thanks.

Did GM ever offer the extended cabs with an 8ft bed or is it just this generation hasn't added it yet? My brain is scrambled and on top of that my memory isn't all that great. I know for sure you could get a 73 c10 with an 8ft bed since there's one sitting out front right now. Other than that I'm not sure :-(

They had long bed ex cabs and to the best of my knowledge there is no "yet" on these trucks, it would be listed if they planned to offer it. I rarely see them, there can't be much market for them.
