If you want it all black, try plastidip ping the chrome on your mirrors, handles, and grille. That way if you don't like it then you can wipe it off. Or if you do like it, you can decide to keep it or replace with parts that are actually painted

Pretty sure you can just rub it off. My neighbor sprayed his emblems on his explorer and used a sock to wipe off the excess (which was quite a bit cause he didn't tape off the emblems at all since he was using plastidip he didn't feel the need to try to cover any surrounding areas) I've never used it myself. But I plan on doing it soon. I need to paint this:

Everything chrome or aluminum in those pics (minus the bumper itself) will be painted black to blend in. As you can tell I'm working on adding aftermarket standalone projectors to my fogs so that I can put a brighter HID bulb without blinding oncoming drivers

Plasti Dip peels right off. I actually messed up the 1st time I did it (too much tape caused the plasti dip to peel off when I tried to remove it) and I had to peel everything off & do it again. Happened with the front & back. Lol.

1st attempt (too much tape)

2nd attempt (much less tape & no paper)

On the 1st attempt, I was trying to spray it without getting a drop on the chrome or grille in general. Would've came out perfect if I didn't tuck the tape in between the parts where the red & chrome meet because of pure paranoia. 2nd attempt could've been better, but I was tired & aggravated. Did this at 3 in the morning. Lol. I'm happy with the results though.

^^^Plasti-dip actually cuts itself when sprayed in lights coats. I did the same thing on my F150, lol. I thought more tape was better...plast-dip is certainly a case of "less is more".

Make sure you apply many layers of Plasti Dip though, it can be a b**** to remove if you only do a couple coats.

Well finally had some days off and I was able to clay bar and wax the truck now that it has warmed up. I bought my truck in November of 2013 and I don't know what kind of sealer they used to seal the paint from the factory but it seemed that it did not last very long. When it would rain the water would not bead up on 80% of the surfaces. Does anyone here know what they use to seal the paint / clear coat if anything at all?

It took me about 5 hours total to wash, clay bar, wax and clean the entire interior. It looked amazing and then this morning it stormed like crazy (Houston, TX). Anyways here some pictures, not the best as they were taken with my iphone 4s and it was very cloudy yesterday. Mods are in signature.

Also towed my Dad's 1970 Camaro and the truck pulled great, no complaints here.

Bought new last Friday. Summit white all terrain package SLT. Added Line-X premium black bedliner andToyo Open Country M/T 33/12.50 r20. Rough Country 2.5in level in the front and 1 inch block in back. WeatherTech digital cut mats on the way and it's getting 15% tint on front today. Removed air valence on front and mud flaps in front of rear tires.

Rubs slightly at full lock, but I think I can do some very minor trimming to fix this. Fits in garage by about 1cm ha
