Here is the truck with some tint and a RC 2.5 level kit. I just need to get my tires. Im thinking of doing 275/60r20, they are just the right price and they will fit with no issues and no fuss.

The kit has 2 inch blocks in the rear. So you remove the 1 inch block and replace it with the 2 inch. The kit is totally worth it. $140 bucks to make the truck look right.

I like these wheels so much.... Picking up my 2015 custom sport plus LTZ Z71 Silverado with 2LZ on Wednesday... I may want to swap out the black 22's for these!

What wheels are these? Look like OEM style 26"s? WOWSERS... I want 24" OEM style replicas if I can find them... Larger OEM style wheels look stock, but way better than 22" IMHO.

nice little wash the other day i had off.......

305/55/20 Mastercraft Courser MXT's on a 2" leveling kit..I feel like it needs just a bit more lift....if i jump to the 2.5" RC kit would it give me a little bump from what I have already? The tires rub just a tad at full lock but nothing a little trimming didn't take care of?

Picked up my Darth Vader looking 2015 Silverado Custom Sport Plus LTZ Z-71. I love it.

My initial thoughts and questions:

Going with Gibson or Corsa, haven't decided yet. I like the factory tip so much, I may just start with replacing the factory muffler and go from there. Those of you who went with Gibson, what part # did you use?

Anyone else have an issue with the factory vinyl tonneau cover bouncing around while driving at high speeds? IT seems like someone may have taken it off and not re-installed it correctly. I haven't had much time with it, but I can't even figure out how to take it off. The metal support rods that run perpendicular to the bed are bouncing up and down, under the vinyl. Just an annoying sound, that's all.

Only had 10 miles on it when I get it. Got a great deal, otherwise was going to wait for 2016. I like the looks of this better anyhow.

The dealer said it was the most expensive half ton they ever had on the lot, made me feel a bit foolish, but I got a good deal.

The 22" wheels looked ugly as hell in photos, but in person they are SWEET. I will not be swapping these out like I thought I would (unless I can find a 24" OEM repro on eBay)...

Does anyone know if there are center caps with black bowties? I black out the bowties and the center caps and steering wheel all come in gold. I saw what Chevy offers, and they don't offer black.

6.2L Engine, 8 speed Tranny with every option available..... Overkill I know. Sorry for rambling, been reading for a month and wanted to wait until I signed the paperwork to post like this.

Better photos to follow.

PS - the OEM headlight performance isn't THAT bad. Sure, it is ugly, yellow halogen light, but I could see just fine. This forum scared the crap out of me when I started reading over the month it took to find this very truck I was looking for. I almost decided to buy a Raptor. I'm SO glad I didn't now. The hi-beams are very serviceable, probably going to swap out the 9005's for an HIR1 (9011) and going to swap out the H11's for an H9. Both are two halogen bulbs that are 65W instead of 55W, with increased lumens. I will post back with my findings. Sure, my '07 Escalade had better light, as does my wife's 2012 Mercedes GL450. Heck, my mom's 2004 Cadillac SRX had the best HIDs I've ever seen. Those are true HD. I would compare these trucks to the '07-14 GMC Denali headlights. Not THAT bad, but not HID either... If I can find a set of OEM housings in black for $300-400 (GM made, not knockoff), I will do the FXR-3.0 conversion with 4300K HID D2S bulbs. I will keep a stock set at all times because of the issues I read about with the HID retrofits. Just my .02 after reading all of the 133 pages, 1991 posts in the MotoMedic created (http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/user/34923-motomedic/) "HID Headlight Bulbs / HID Projector Retrofit" (http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/152762-hid-headlight-bulbs-hid-projector-retrofit/page-1) post. It was a chore to read, so, I think it would be helpful if the Sierra's and Silverado's were seperate. It seemed like 2/3rds of the post were related to Sierra, and 1/3rd related to Silverado.

    • My 2015 1500 LTZ Silverado suddenly won't go into 4 x 4 low. It will go into 4 x 4 high.
    • Yep, just a quick reference point.    My main point being I’d do a thousand other things before I’d pay 10k for a transmission.    Speaking in ignorance cause I don’t look at these trucks, what is it worth? 20k?
    • I think users are going to want to pick their monitored parameters, which parameters they want to see first.    It should probably start with baseline at a minimum and adjust to learned, but be able to overlay baseline for comparison.   A simple severity level would be able to determine what type of alerting is appropriate or user selectable.    Why not use the OBD port though?   I think a phone connection would be a good idea, push notifications type deal.   Number 1 issue is having data is useless if you don’t know what the data should be under normal conditions.
    • I thought I would use your thread and add to it as I just did my first longer drive with my truck in the last couple of days. I drove from the Grande Prairie area of Alberta down to Edmonton and most of where I drove in the city was the ring road so fairly free flowing but a bit of stop and go as well in the city. Stayed the night and returned home and not too many stops along the way each way but every restart and certainly every cold start sets it back for fuel mileage. Why I say that is I see some people will cherry pick a fuel mileage leg after the vehicle had been warmed up driveline wise before hand and its a forgiving ( easy rolling drive leg for example ) and call that their fuel mileage which can give a false perception of reality. I was not heavily loaded at all but never the less the flip bak cover, rubber bed mat, various tools etc and extra jerry cans of fuel all way up to a few hundred pounds of dead weight so its not an empty truck. The cold inflation tire pressures are set more near the freezing point so once they are warmed up driving I was showing 45 front and over 40 rear and realize high inflation pressures would help a little in fuel mileage but certainly not the ride on our crap sections of highway. The weather was good so was not raining as that can really drag mileage down, in fact I had a bit of a tail wind on average driving home. Most people on here would never have driven on that freeway to visualize it but its got a fair bit of rolling type of landscape with numerous river valleys. For the most part I had it on cruise set to 62 although kicking it off if I caught it in time before it started down shifting and self braking going down the grades. Most of the more substantial grades its shifting into 7th I believe as 8th just doesn't have it. Total distance round trip was 643 miles and my overall average and I did refuel three times in all, figured out to 17.65 miles per US gallon. My best fuel mileage section refuel within all of this figured out to 18.46 and these are all hand calculated figures. I find if anything that the trucks computer can be over optimistic, sometimes its pretty close but other times its stretching it. On paper persay in theory the truck would have just about made it on fumes for that whole drive without refueling once.    Which made me think of the topic thread of the wonder if these trucks could do 20 mpg and that is a good question, certainly would have to be on an easy going flat highway, no head wind, the right temperature, not packing around a bunch of dead weight and puttering along even slower than I was I would suspect and going steady and not stopping to smell the flowers or take a piss !. It probably is possible but not without effort to attain that with the wind resistance and weight of these trucks. Of course on my drive most people are passing me if they have the power as per loaded highway tractors, never mind a lot of speedy vehicles but the speed limit is 68 and most are at or well over that.
    • Monday looks like a good day for the dealer to test an ac issue. Hopefully it all turns out good.
