I don't mean to hijack your thread C25A1guy, but can you tell me what subs your running Chevyboy? I was looking at some JL's as well the TW3 12's specifically and I want to know how hard they hit compared to the older subs I had (W3's).

I was running two 12" JL w3v3's, but now I can get a good deal on some pioneers from a buddy. I've had them in my truck for a year now haha. Just trying them out right now, don't know if I like em yet. Dunno if I'm gonna give him cash. More wattage than jl's and louder bit no where near as clean. Cheaper than jl's too. But I can tell they don't handle the power as well even tho they are higher rms. Here's my setup. Sounds beautiful, shallow mounts aren't the same tho. But very clean.

As far as power, it'll probably be 4ga to the amps. Interconnects from the processor to the amps are CAT6.

You have a nice setup, I had a somewhat similar setup with some JL 10" W3's. I love those subs, they sound great and provide a good amount of bass. I like them especially because I don't want things rattling like my old truck used to (it had 2 Kicker 15's) haha. Thanks for the info.

I am looking forward to seeing your setup complete, I should be getting my new truck soon and one of the first things I want to do is add some subs and probably swap the speakers. Good luck on everything and please post progress pictures.

I like the technology. Being a computer nerd it gives me something to modify. Im hoping the signal trigger will be sufficient but it sounds great so I'm happy already. Once we are settled from moving I'll need to mount the sub amp and build a box. I still need to see if theres room behind the rear seat when its folded up to mount the amp.

Just picked up a Double Cab Z71. I would like to replace the stock speakers without adding any amps...

Question:

Can I put 6.5 coax 2 way in the rear and 6x9 3-way in the front. If they fit, should I disconnect the dash mounted tweeters?

I'd leave the dash tweeters if you're not using components, theyll provide some good vocals and staging. Leave the door panels off so you can proof listen to them and you can determine if you should disable the door speaker coax tweeter, as it may be too much.

I got a set of Rockford Fosgate - Punch installed. Components in the front, 2 way in the back (6.5 Inch). I like the sound, however I think the built in amplifier is on the week side.

Also, I found the wiring is different color wise on the 2014. I had to do polarity test on all of the door speakers just to be on the safe side.

( I should have probably used Rockford Prime as they are more suitable for the OEM replacement)

Left Front Speaker (+/-) // blue - brown/blue // radio, green 16 pin plug, pins 1 - 9

Right Front Speaker (+/-) // yellow - yellow/black // radio, green 16 pin plug, pins 2 - 10

Left Rear Speaker (+/-) // green - green/black // radio, green 16 pin plug, pins 3 - 11

Right Rear Speaker (+/-) // white - blue/black // radio, green 16 pin plug, pins 4 - 12
