2014 Audio Adjustment from head unit

I have a 2014 (non-nav) bose stereo with sub in my GMC SLT. Well, it has bucket seats with a console so from what I read, I assume there is a sub in there.

Anyway, When I go to audio set options there are only two options - custom and talk. Custom is just a low/mid/high setting. Talk just sounds like crap. However, I test drove a Chevy without the bose stereo (but with nav) before this GMC and it had all kinds of factory sound presets - Pop, Talk, Jazz, Rock, etc. Not sure what else it had, I did not mess with it that much. But it was way more than I have on this SLT GMC, and it was an LT Chevy.

Are the extra radio settings tied in with the navigation package? Its not a big deal I guess, but it seems kinda lame to have fewer adjustments on a so called upgraded stereo. I am very suprised that there is not an independent adjustment for the sub level.

Thanks.

My GMC SLE non Bose non Nav has the adjustments you are referring to. Manual, jazz, rock and so on. It seems there are so many variations and/or errors with this my link system.

My non-Nav SLE with buckets also has all the various tone presets.

I have 2 questions perhaps someone knows:

1)how do you get the memory/favorite presets to stay on the screen? I accidentally acitivated it and deactivated it

2)I get a clicking noise out of the front right door speaker when the volume is higher. It is a popping noise tat sounds like a short. Anyone else experience this?

I'm getting some weird noises a well if I have the base turned up ever so slightly. If I have the base all the way down its crystal clear lyrics but any bass sound like crap. I can't tell if it's noise coming from the door panels or the speakers themselves. It will be getting looked at during the first oil change.

One thing that DRIVES ME NUTS is when you are using the steering wheel controls to flip through your favorites, your fav channels do not stay on the screen for more than 3 seconds. So while channel surfing, you are constantly having to hit the button twice to flip. Once to bring the favs up and again to skip to the next stattion.

GMC....FIX THIS!

Or when you're scrolling through favorites and have to turn... Grinds my gears!

Agreed, that could be better. Ipod control bugs me as well. If I tell it to play a certain artist, it will play the first song alphabetically by that artist and then go to the next song title alphabetically on the ipod by any artist. Or when playing an album it plays songs alphabetically and not in the order of the album. Is this possibly a setting?

To put us back on topic - how does one go about getting their radio updated with the full and latest options?

I can tell you that the bose system never had the preset audio options, jazz, rock, country, etc. even on the gmt900s. Only custom and talk even with the fancy nav system I have. Custom refers to the bass/mid/treble adjustments that allow you to set it exactly how you like it. The non-bose just has those factory sound presets.

touch the bottom of the screen and drag up a little bit and it will pop back up. if you drag up too much all the presets will pop up and then you just have to drag it back down a little
