I just ordered a pair of Rigid D2 Driving Lights to replace my factory Fog lights with. Can't wait to get them!

Jm77 i have the spod also and love it. Im thinking about getting the trex brackets. What size leds did you use. Could it fit a dually xl

What brand light bars would yall say we're the best or most reliable

I would put the Baja Designs lights above the Rigids. They are higher cost, but you do get more for your money. They're not for everyone's budget.

 

You can google a bunch of comparisons people have posted if you type "Baja designs vs rigid".

I used rigid d2's but don't see why you couldn't use the XL. I actually thought about that when ordering everything but couldn't justify the price increase vs lumen increase. That's just based on the numbers as I couldn't find many reviews of the xl's.

 

Let me know if you go that route and how you like them. Post some pictures too! And ha the Spod rocks.

I'm getting ready to buy a 30-32" light bar to install behind my grill on my Sierra AT. I think I want to go the route of having a wireless remote for now. If it fails down the line, I'll hardwire it. Does anyone know if these lightbars all have the same connectors? I'm looking at getting the Totron Wireless remote and possibly programming to homelink. The LED bar will probably be a decent quality one off of ebay or amazon. Should this all work together or would I have to clip and install different connectors?

Your install looks fantastic. So we're coming up on one year down the road from your post. How is everything holding up? Lightbar still working as expected? How about the grill? How has it held up to the heat of those uber hot lights cooking away behind the grill? Any warping or melting?

Here is my father day gift 50" led bar sure it's a knockoff with the RC door brackets. Trying to solve the windy noise issue it makes because of the brackets

Let me know what you figure out with this. This is the setup I want but I dont want a howling light bar either.

You have to play with the light and tilt it at just the right angle and that will take care of the light high pitch noise. Some foam from the box in between some fins also helped. The 1/2 tubing fixed the wind threw the door and stopped the rain from pouring in thru the door jam. Poor design by RC in my opinion . If it was up to me I wouldn't recommend them at all.

My buddy has one behind the grill on his truck that we installed and it works good. No issues so far.

 

I am trying to find a 36" non curved dual row LED light bar with side mounts, unfortunately the Eyourlife on amazon are bottom mounts.

Good to hear. Do you have any pics of his setup?

 

Well with the bottom mounts if you measure right and get the right size, you can mount to the radiatior support bars behind the grill. I need to measure when I get home today but, a 30-32" should work just fine.

      Heat is what kills them, the redesigned cooling system and that full temperature thermostat on the side of the transmission doomed them from day 1.  The heat eventually causes the clutch material on the plate to flex which then breaks up and runs throughout the transmission.     The GMT900s when serviced regularly, often run into the 200K mile range or more.  One 6L90 in an HD3500, pulled into the shop on its own power for overhaul at 320K miles at Precision Transmission a few years ago.

      I started doing this late last year as a habit and situationally for much much longer. Coincidently I've found 1500 rpm to be my trigger point as well.    It's the same sensation as a manual held in high gear at low speeds. You can feel it tearing itself apart. Don't let it!    I'll add this tidbit. When on a longer run at 50-55 mph and in M5 once up to speed I tap the tow button which will hold it in 5th gear and then ask for M6 to activate the AFM. When I have to slow to a speed that will downshift I go back to M5 then tap out of tow. Smooth as butter. I still use D for Interstate work above 54 mph. If I forget, it will remind me. LOL.

At delivery they are the same. Pump price responds directionally to the futures price. No they are not the same but at delivery they are indistinguishable. Good thing to or you'd be paying a thousand dollars a gallon for the stuff.      There is an definitive answer with an absolute and assured result. However that answer cannot be discussed on this site.    But I can say this. It is beyond the ability of any human or any group of humans no matter how well meaning. We have had thousands of years to prove we could and the results are dismal. Until then we have this:         And there it is.

      I had a strange problem with my Avalanche. Yearly once the temperature started getting hot. It would freeze me out going to my walking trail about 8 miles. Nothing but hot air going home. My machanic would put the Freon in the machine vacuum the system. No leaks put the Freon back, good for the year. My brothers truck wouldn’t work at all until he did the same procedure. I believe he finally changed the expansion valve to solve his problem.
