Wheel Offset & Tire Combo After Lift?

So, with the 2.5" rough country leveling kit, would a set of 305/55R20 tires on some -12 offset wheels work without rubbing?

Absolutely not. You would need to go with a +18 offset

I was able to get that set up after I added the 1.5" body lift.

After 4 inches of lift with wheels & tires (305/55r20; -12 offset). Overall a true 6" of lift:

I'm not rubbing at all while driving forward and I got a slight rub while in reverse but its not enought to even worry about. I test fit the Bushwacker fender flares and they fit up just fine without rub. I'll be getting them painted and hopefully get them on in the next two weeks.

I would not recomend the -12 offset to anyone unless your going to do fender flares; they do stick out quite a bit and depending on the driving you do they would cause some debris thrown up on the paint.

K G that looks great! Since you got the -12's to work the bushwacker fender flares should look incredible. Be sure to post more pictures.

On the N-fab steps just a heads up I decided against them because of the placement (and width) of the steps. They aren't very useable unless you open the door all the way. For me, I can't open the doors all the way very often.

Something to check anyway before you commit. Great looking truck.

Thanks!

I'll be posting as it comes along. Unfortunately I'll be out of town for the next week but I'm hoping to get the fenders painted while I'm gone. On the plus side I'm heading out to the ranch so I'll be testing out the set up a little bit.

On the n-fab steps, I did think about that. My old 95 Silverado had them and that was an issue sometimes. My dad put them on his 2014 and I definitely noticed the same issue getting in his. I decided to go with their N-Durastep line (http://www.n-fab.com/products/sfID1/147/sfID2/61/sfID3/68/productID/574) because it has a little wider platform.

Can you take a picture of how much your tires stick out? I have -12 wheels too and would like to see how far they stick out. Thanks.

I'll try to have some pictures posted by tomorrow. I'm also going to snap a few next to a stock 2014

Great thread guys and very informative as well. I have approximately 3.25 lift in the front and was going to try to run a 305/50-22. any thoughts or suggestions?

You should be fine clearing those. You could probably fit something bigger in there. might look funny on a 22" wheel and small tires with a lift on the truck. What type of tires are you looking at getting and what offset on the wheels?

Looks gooood! How much were those wheels???

Ok as requested I got a few more pictures for everyone. I was also able to take a couple next to my dads stock 2014 (exact same truck, exact same options when purchased).

I didn't realize it until I looked at the pictures but my front wheels weren't perfectly aligned. Tried to get the best angles possible for everyone.

Oh so true. I think I got a good deal on the Terra Grapplers at $285 a piece at Discount Tire. Plus I bought the certificates which were $48.50 a piece. The tires are where the cash really flies away.

K G your tires, offset, and lift all really work together nicely. Nice work!

Actually, the same thing my tire guy told me. I was looking at the Toyo A/T but maybe going with the 305/55-20 instead. Its a really good looking setup on your truck. The guy at the shop recommended a -12 offset to get more "lip" on the wheel. Do you think I have enough lift to clear?

Thanks for the compliments guys! This was a long process trying to get the right set up without causing problems or rubbing but it was definitely worth the patience in the end, glad I didn't settle for a smaller tire or different offset. I'm happy with the way it turned out. I hope this was able to help people out.

KUUG - did you have to get rid of the bottom lip to make this work?

No if you look close at the picture I hit some road debris; you can see that front plastic piece is sticking out to the left of the license plate. After ordering them 3 different times I finally have all the correct pieces to fix it next week. I didn't buy the lower though because I like the way it looks without it.

It will add more lip for sure but +18 might give you the look also. With a +18 you definitely wont rub. -12 will be close but I think it may work, your only 1/2" shorter than me. If that's what he recommends I would go with it and if it doesn't just have them order in some +18; any reputable shouldn't have a problem doing that for you. If you test them out drive it in reverse, I'm getting a slight rub only when I turn the steering wheel right in reverse, I haven't been able to figure out the exact location yet but like I said its just very slight.

Again don't forget the -12 offset will cause debris to be thrown on the side of your truck. Look at the back passenger side behind the tire. I started developing a build up this week that I never had before. Fender flares will cover this but I wouldn't risk the -12 unless you like the look of flares.

Toyo A/T is a good choice. I wanted them but they couldn't cut as good of a deal as they did for the Nitto Terra Grapplers.
