Mostly just venting frustrations...

Had it just over a week and I'm about 700 miles in on my 2014 AT Sierra.

Milage is showing 13.7 average. Of course, this is including a lot of remote starts, winter gas & a 3 day snow storm which never helps the average. I did a hand calc for my two day road trip, but only come up with 13.9. Sure hope this gets a lot better.

I have some minor nagging issues that need to be fixed.

-The driver's side mirror blinker lights don't work.

-Parking assist sensor are terribly susceptible to snow on the bumper. The smallest amount of snow or ice on them cause them to go off and that warning tone is so fricking loud...I pretty much turn them off every time I get in the truck.

-I'm getting some vibration in the front end/steering wheel above 70, but not experienced it enough to confirm its an issue yet.

-Dash is warping by the defrost vents.

-Definitely in the market for new tires after initially being OK with, even liking, the Goodyear SRA's.

Biggest issue is that after performing really quite well during last week's snow storms, the 4 wheel drive & Auto setting have crapped out on me - not good in this town, in winter, with a truck. A major issue if its not a simple fix in my opinion.

I expect things like ride/mpg to get better as it gets broken in with more miles, but some of it is really too bad.

Hey JCthebigTree.

Some of these issues you are venting about are actually being discussed on the board. If you do some searching, you'll find some of them and maybe get some answers or see what others have done to resolve those issues.

The warping dash you can find here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/155732-new-14-ltz-warped-dash/

The bumper sensors you can find here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/155433-park-assist/?do=findComment&comment=1377260

The vibrations: You can have a field day by searching for that.

Hope some of this helps!

Thanks guys... I probably shouldn't have opened a thread just to piss and moan.

Read through the vibration & warped dash threads...didn't see the bumper sensors thread.

Big thing at the moment is being frustrated with the 4 wheel drive going out...a lot of greasy snow to deal with more on the way tomorrow, and not getting it in until Wednesday. 2wd pickups are not great on snowy hills!

Sorry your having issue, hope they get you back on the road soon. At least they should have given you a 4x4 loaner, right?

On the sensor issue, I had one occurance that they did not work. It was when we were getting an ice storm. There is a thread here somewhere that discusess this.

I don't know if I'll have a loaner yet.

My pops has a '12 Yukon XL that's having some issues and I dropped him off at the dealer with it and got the servicing scheduled... My guess is he'll return the favor Wednesday morning, my hopes is that there's some sort of simple electrical issue that's causing the 4 wheel not to turn on and I have it back Wednesday afternoon...

If it's not ready, I'm going to be on them to give me a 4 wheel loaner. Though, in all the the years I've been dealing with this dealer, I've never not gotten my truck back the same day - or had any real issues, so I'm assuming I won't have to get riled up with them for them to make things right.

Mileage is definitely negatively influenced by winter gas blend and slower driving in inclement weather. And to get the advertised mileage, or anything close to it, you must drive your truck like a 90 year old guy.

Agree, it's also influenced by the longer warm up times, auto starting etc... One thing I didn't think of for those who have had the AFM update and their mileage went to sh!t is that when they loaded the fix it could very well have reset the fuel trims. If they were reset you will get sh!tty mileage until the ECM has time to learn.

Just my thoughts,

I'm surprised at those with MPG issues, I have a lead foot and have been getting 15-16 MPG averages and have just under 700 miles on the truck so far (2WD Silverado LTZ). Has anyone related the vibration issues to just 4x4 trucks? I have none of the issues in the first post.

I'm not surprised that you're getting better milage in Houston with a 2wd than I'm getting in Minn on hills/snow in 4x4... That might also include us having winter gas and you not having it.

I guess why I'm complaining about it is that this vehicle is rated for a lot better mpg than my '07 Yukon, when I traded that in at 150K miles I was averaging 13.6 or so according to the computer, which had dropped from 14.4 when I bought it at 78K miles.

I don't drive this one any different so I was expecting better MPG from a vehicle rated for better MPG.

I do know that I'm being impatient and don't have enough miles to really worry about it though.

Update:

The dealer has had it all day and still running diagnostics on it to figure out what's wrong with the 4 wheel drive and they're going to need to keep it over night.

I have a meeting at 5 and the don't do loaners... Wonderful.

Not happy.

That's terrible. My local would at least give me a loaner.

Good luck

After the update I noticed a big drop in mpg. Been a few hundred miles and doesn't seen to be coming back.

Your warranty includes courtesy transportation. What did they provide?

When I was having problems with my 2013 before it was bought back the dealer gave me a loner every time I brought it in. They use a local enterprise rent a car for the vehicles. One time they tried to give me an impala but I told them that I wanted something comparable to my truck since I drove a truck. Every time after that they gave me a surburban for the rental. My service rep told me that GM actually pays for the rental for the first five days every time, after that the dealership pays. Sounds like some incentive for the service department to get the vehicles finished faster. You should be getting a car every time if needed.
