He is very knowledgeable. I didnt ask about the back pressure loss but did pick his brain about headers and gears as well as tuning.

When i go home i am willing to take the drive.... All 5ish hours just to get a good tune.... I have done it before. Lol

Yeah it's 10 hours from me or else I would make the drive.

I wouldn't be buying my magnaflow set up i'm getting put on today. I'd be going straight to him.

I dont agree with the exhaust being 4" on a 5.3 but he swears by it and well he has the dyno sheets.... But the black truck he dynoed over 400rwhp on bolt oms and a cam had a magnaflow catback.

True. If I hadn't just bought a new truck I may have thought about buying that one from him. Thing was sweet.

I'm going with a 3" to 14" Magnaflow and 3" single out the back and cutting out the third cat. Should be picking it up here in a bit. I'm pretty pumped to see how it turned out.

Please post a sound bit.... I am so torn on what to get it makes me nauseous lol

Haha you bet! I was bouncing back and forth for a long time.

I'm out in Lubbock and the shop here is doing the whole set up for $300 and I wanted a magnaflow for the performance aspect of it (Seeing chuck's truck with a magnaflow and 400 rwhp with bolt ons helped with that decision). and at $300 it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a lot of set ups i've seen for order.

This guy does great work too. I'll have pictures maybe by lunch and i'll do some sound clips today or tomorrow as well.

Thanks man.... I plan on doing the whole thing stainless... That said i have yet to price it out but i think ill be close to the catback price. It will be hooked up to a set of American Racing Headers 1 7/8 with an ORY that are just sitting at home waiting for me.

Well, i couldnt take it...i installed my gibson metal mulisha cat back on saturday, and i just re-installed my factory exhaust...truck was running and shifting really strange and was constantly trying to stay in v4 mode...had to drive across town today and it shifted to quick in lower gears and held to long in higher gears when id hit an open stretch of road...im gonna contact hhp in houston and see what options they have, but im in so ill so a trip for a dyno tune is out...maybe a programmer, eliminate v4 mode and try it again later...it sure did sound good though under throttle and at idle..best sounding exhaust ive heard on a small block...just not enough back pressure with the 4" catback without some tuning.

If you don't mind, please let us know how it turns out and how good his mail order tunes are!

Good luck! I'd love to hear that exhaust! I'm loving my new set up so far!

Well I don't have a ton to post but I got a couple clips for you.

Headphones give the most accurate tone for the exhaust, but the first video from inside the cab, they make it sound a lot louder than it actually is.

It sounds killer when you get on it. Cruising at 65 yesterday I couldn't hear it with the radio on.

And V4 mode really isn't bad at all.

And it may just be a convenient coincidence, but my 25mile mpg avg went up almost 3 mpg already with typical driving in the city i do almost every day.

I'll let you know if that holds true.

Yup... He has sold it and has a 2015 denali 6.2 now.

He had an 18" magnaflow 3" muffler with the exit done in 4" to a 5" tip

Tell me about it.... It was a custom grind cam from KHP in the RGV and tuned by Tellez Motorsports.

Its all the rage in the valley.... Custom grind cams just for the sound. Tbh.... Thats why i want it too.... Just reliability on these DI engines with a cam is my main concern.

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
