I did the full McG kit and went 4/6 at first but brought it back up due to rubbing and not wanting to notch the back, then I switched the rear flip to the DJM to get the pinion adjustment but probably didn't need to because it looks like I am probably dealing with the bad axle issue. My own fault for installing the drop with 50 miles on the truck. It was probably present before the drop but I was convinced it was a pinion angle issue so instead of messing with shims I pulled the McG brackets for the DJM's for the adjustment the provide.

How is it custom?

Technically all off the shelf, but it's not a kit. I used McGaughys rear axle flip as well as their adjustable struts. I also bought a set of 2" drop coils, and all the parts for the strut assemblies (down to the U nuts) from a chevy dealer down the road. I used belltech rear shocks.Have a set of upper control arm bushings coming from Napa this week. Will be installing those to try to get camber back to an acceptable amount.

Anyone remove the overload springs in the rear to get another 1" of drop? Ive done 2" shackles & removed rear blocks & doing this should put the rear around 4-4.5" . I know it will take away payload ability but I do not tow or haul with my truck.

Little over 1/2 and nets about 7/8 of drop. truck doesn't ride very good like this though..

2" drop shackles and a rear block delete will net you about 3.25" of drop..and that is ONLY if your shackles are actually a 2" drop. My McGaughys shackles were about a 1 3/4" drop. Hope this helps!

If you have done a flip kit removing the overload spring will not lower the truck any because it's on the bottom of the spring pack. If the springs are on the top of the axle it will lower it a little.

You're going to want some Ride Tech RQ or HQ shocks go to the web site with your measurements, they will have something.
