Im in love with my truck, double cab Z71 SLE w/console. Reading your posts makes me jealous.

Unfortunately I'm one of the few unlucky ones to run into problems with the new models. Power Steering rack assembly getting replaced (dealer can't even get their hands on the parts due to this being a pretty widespread issue.) Mine is in the shop for at least another week and they have me rolling around in a buick verano. I'm not going to bag on GM, I knew what I was getting into when I opted to go with the 14, just wish they would have tried harder to give me a loaner truck instead of a 4cyl car.

I love the hell out of my 2014 Sierra SLT Crew Cab long bed, too. It makes me smile every time I drive it. I agree with all the previous posters regarding electronics, camera, handling, quietness, performance, looks, room, radio, gas mileage and more. Best truck I've ever owned.

I'll post in here because I've complained about the things wrong with mine...mostly out of frustration.

What I love:

Fit & Feel - I'm tall and even with the center console, I'm as comfortable in this truck as I've been in a vehicle since my '02 Avalanche without center console... Way more room than my '07 Yukon, even though there technically isn't much more room. I just 'feel' right in this truck. I love how the steering wheel is thicker than in my old Yukon too... So many ways to set the seats to be perfectly comfortable on long trips - sometimes I want to be real upright and up high, other times I want to be a bit lower and reclined - with the telescoping wheel, I can get it right in a lot of ways - in the '07 Yukon, the steering wheel was always too far away if I wanted to stretch my legs out more. Rides really nice.

Interior- I have the A/T package and love the red stitching, red back lighting, the subtle 'faux' carbon fiber touches on the seats and trim. The center console is immense and really well thought out. It absolutely as quiet as can be. Just a really really nice interior for a pickup.

Electronics- While I think it could be a whole lot better without much effort on their part, the Intellink system is still pretty sweet. The USB & SD ports are an awesome touch - Looking for a good deal on an external plug and play hard drive to keep in the console for all my music (just 10 years ago I thought this would be the coolest thing and would only have been in high end aftermarket systems, and now it comes stock) Pandora through the system is awesome. I think the BOSE sounds fantastic.

Exterior - Just a damn good looking truck. If I had ordered I would have gone with the color matched bumpers, but I think it looks good with the color match grille & chrome bumpers as it is. The 20" bright AT rims are really nice to look at. Headlights are sweet looking (wish the fog lamps came in LED to match though). I love the way the hood looks out of the drivers seat. Tailgate system, bed tie down system, and step bumper are slick.

I have very few niggling issues with the truck, just the couple major ones... I'd say the Intellink system, while great, could have been a lot better - it gets clunky at times. Wish the fog lamps were stock LED. Wish the parking sensors weren't so damn sensitive.

Other than that, I wish I had gotten a crew cab and bought it so I could fix it up like Seatec's!

I mean you can get it done in a regular cab or double cab, but you'll just have so much more space in a crew.

I quess I will join the party. Got mine in October. Have 1500 miles in her now and I could not be more pleased. Super quiet, nice power and decent gas milage. I like the navigation and the bose sounds great.

FYI... According to the manual you cannot use a portable hard drive with the USB ports, only a usb stick or memory card in the SD slot. I have not tried it out to confirm but I just thought I would give you a heads up. I would try a friends out first before you spend hard earned dollars on a new one only to find out it isn't compatible...

This is the first time a tall person like me has posted their positive experience with the telescoping steering wheel and the ability to get comfortable, thanks, I've always wondered how effective it was. This is the only issue I have with my 2012, the wheel being too d**m far away. Still doubt I would upgrade to a 2014 since the new Impala looks so appealing.

I told myself I'd never have a beta model vehicle. I'd like to say I love my truck as well. I drive it so damn much I'm going to wear it out. I bought mine in october and have been fortunate enough to have had it built after most of the bugs have been squashed.

Ok Boys and Girls. Just put some songs on a freshly formatted Western Digital 2TB external hard drive. USB 3.0. Plugged it in the USB slot and it started playing almost instantaneously. Works like a Charm. Now I need to figure out where to get 2 Terabytes worth of songs? Will later put some movies on the drive and see if they play as well. I don't know if the passport would hold up long because it is still a moving spinning disk. A solid state external HD would work better I think,

NDlangle - no need to be jealous of mine, it goes back in Thursday to get the 4wd control module *hopefully* replaced and working.

Seatec - I went from an Avalanche to a Yukon to this Double Cab, took the rear seat space for granted. I also don't have a tonneau on mine yet, which will probably make me more comfortable putting certain things in the bed. With no tonneau, a dog and luggage get to be a lot in the back of a double cab. That and I think the crews look nicer. I'll be happy with the extra bed length when I'm packing in my bigger fishing poles though.

I'm under the assumption that any 'plug and play' style HD is really just a big flash drive and would work just fine. I'm surprised the passport with the spinning drive actually works.

Beetle - the telescoping steering wheel is huge for me. So huge that while my plan is to buy a used '15 or '16 used Yukon when my Sierra's lease is up, if they don't have telescoping I may stick to a Sierra just for that.
