NDlangle - no need to be jealous of mine, it goes back in Thursday to get the 4wd control module *hopefully* replaced and working.

Seatec - I went from an Avalanche to a Yukon to this Double Cab, took the rear seat space for granted. I also don't have a tonneau on mine yet, which will probably make me more comfortable putting certain things in the bed. With no tonneau, a dog and luggage get to be a lot in the back of a double cab. That and I think the crews look nicer. I'll be happy with the extra bed length when I'm packing in my bigger fishing poles though.

I'm under the assumption that any 'plug and play' style HD is really just a big flash drive and would work just fine. I'm surprised the passport with the spinning drive actually works.

Beetle - the telescoping steering wheel is huge for me. So huge that while my plan is to buy a used '15 or '16 used Yukon when my Sierra's lease is up, if they don't have telescoping I may stick to a Sierra for that reason alone.

JC, It all depends on how the HD presents itself to the interface. All the Head Unit sees is a USB Device.

I have to say that I like my truck more and more every day. Drove home in the snow today and I felt really comfortable (now I'm driving at a safe speed for the conditions) I tried both the auto 4wd and 4wd high both worked really well. Even with the goodyears it drove incredible.

I have had the seat issue, they replaced the lower seat frame and seems to be good. My dash warped but it's just a little and the other day it was not noticeable because of the heat. My radio lights and fan light do not lite up but I hoping for a gm fix, this bothers me, not because the lights are not lit but because they are fixing it for all the new trucks. If no one said anything I prob would not have noticed.

Other than those minor things the truck rides great, has a lot of power. There is a lot of room in the back and

we are even taking it in the family trip to Vt. next week.

One question? I have the buckets with leather full console and Bose system does that automatically mean that I have the sub in the console like others have talked about?

bucket seats in a truck??!! Where does your woman sit? I still like when my wife sits in the middle (doesn't happen near enough, IMO). LOL

Ok Boys and Girls. Just put some songs on a freshly formatted Western Digital 2TB external hard drive. USB 3.0. Plugged it in the USB slot and it started playing almost instantaneously. Works like a Charm. Now I need to figure out where to get 2 Terabytes worth of songs? Will later put some movies on the drive and see if they play as well. I don't know if the passport would hold up long because it is still a moving spinning disk. A solid state external HD would work better I think,

Awesome! No surprise that the manual isn't correct. I wonder now if is better to go that route rather than what I am currently doing. I had my old 60gig ipod laying around not doing anything so I dumped my itunes archive onto it and just leave it in the truck permanently.

I may have to compare the access times between the ipod and a plain old hard drive.

Either way I have more dang music options that I can shake a stick at. Just one of many things I absolutely love about the new Silverado!

Most likely the Head Unit wont read Itune formatted music dumped onto a USB Drive. You'd have to convert it to mp3. It might just be a rename of all the files to mp3 but am not sure. I avoid ITunes like the plague. lol

Speaking of browsing usb drives. When I switch the DIC to audio and select the browse option nothing appears in the browse list while the main unit can browse the usb stick just fine. Does it have to do with the song name formatting?

The Mylink system will play non-DRM AC4/AAC files natively.

Yea, most of my music is archived in .mp3 seperately from my itunes library for just that reason. I'm not a huge fan of itunes myself with all the stupid DRM crap. That being said I do like the way they sync content across all their devices. It's not perfect but it is leaps and bounds above everyone else in its transparentness. Wow, is that a word?

I digress...

Interesting question about the brows feature of the DIC. I'll have to do some experimenting of my own now...

Just when I thought I had some free time...

Just goes to show you that in the forum dominated by complaints and problems (By nature, you come here to ask questions or complain, its normal) there are many satisfied owners.

Overall after about 6 weeks and 4 tanks of fuel I am reasonably happy with mine.To me the interior is the best feature after owning 2 GM900ts.Coming off an LML i am still getting used to lack of torque.I do like my heated cloth seats even if I can't see the drivers switch which is blocked by the steering wheel.

I'm going to have to fire up my old computer from Grad school (hasn't been turned on in 6 or 7 years) and get all my old .mp3's off of it... Hopefully the HD is still good... Those are pretty much Itunes free - really only used Winamp back then. Loved Winamp...hate Itunes. Newer laptop has Itunes and I can't really even find my music.

I have the same issue with the DIC not always syncing up with the flash drive I have now - one of my intellink complaints - so I have to sort through using my hand on the main screen rather than steering wheel. I read how ridiculous that is, such a first world problem, but still shouldn't be that way.

How do you get Photo's to show up on the display, or is that a mistake in the manual? I see an option to play videos (haven't tried) but not photos. Would be nice to take the SD card out of the trail cam when I get to the cabin and flip through them rather than having to take the card all the way into the cabin (mile) and then back out to the camera.

OH...the reason I came back to the thread. I know some people don't, but I LOVE the LED interior lighting just looks cool. And the small overhead that is continually on lighting the console is awesome.
