To quote fondupot...."I enjoy the hell out of my truck"

Just thought we could use a good thread around here.

I have only had mine 24 hours, but I really like it. I thought people were crazy when they said that the new truck was soooo much better than the previous one. Turns out they are right.

1. Loving the quiet ride. It has less road noise at 70 than my wife's Lincoln MKX. \

2. I like the electronics. Much much better than the Sync system in our Lincoln and my Dad's ford truck. Easier to navigate and seems less buggy.

3. The cab seems much bigger in the back seat.

4. Best looking 20" factory wheel options from any of the truck makers.

I applaud you for this thread.

My AT makes me smile every time I see it and Drive it.

P.S. You should change your vehicle info in your profile.

I'm really enjoying the heck out of mine too. I've had it for almost 2 weeks and couldn't be happier!

Zero issues with mine & I'm getting decent mpg despite only having under 500 miles on the OD. I can't wait to take her out on the highway next week to visit family for Christmas.

My neighbor has had his 14 GMC sierra for over 3 months and he absolutely loves his.

I just know I will enjoy the crap out of mine if I ever get it, just heard it was in transit to the dealership, although GM told me wrong info 3 times now and the dealership had to find out the real story. Crossed Fingers.

Very happy with my Silverado so far :). Only had it for a week now. Sadly, it's already dirty as sin (of course, I HAD TO get black and now with the winter salt on the roads, it's going to look like hell until spring!) but that's life!! :D

The things I like most so far:

- the chrome grille is awesome ...... love it ....... no way could I have ordered a Z71 and not gotten this grille!! It makes such a statement!

- the Bose radio is pretty damn good (I've got the full center console, so have the extra sub as well). I listen to heavy music (ie: XM37 - Octane) and it's got good kick and a clean sound (for a factory system, anyway).

- the back-up camera ..............where have you been all my life?!?! :D With a crew cab + 6.5' box, I can't afford not to use a whole parking space, so this thing makes knowing where your rear bumper is a breeze! :) (....except after driving on snowy roads and it gets covered in slush/snow ..... ah well, bound to happen).

- heated cloth seats ... what a beautiful thing!!! :) (...especially in temperatures well below the freezing mark!)

Overall, I'm just VERY PLEASED with this truck. It's the nicest vehicle I've ever owned, next to the C6 Corvette I used to have (until kids rolled along). Quality / fit / finish / ride / etc., are all top-notch, IMO.

Right on brother! Only thing I can complain about right now is the damn salt all over it!

They have heated cloth seats??!! that is pretty smart.

Yes, the Bose sounds really good for a factory radio....this coming from a audiphile like myself.

I can't wait to use the backup camera to hook up to the the boat - my wife just doesn't get the whole "using hand signals to back me up" thing. LOL!

How funny OP, you and I have the same vehicles in the garage...lol

I said the same thing, my 2014 Sierra is more quite than my wifes 2011 Lincoln MKX. So far we are loving the new truck, even with the 6.2 it does decent on gas mileage. Only real complaint I have is on the radio reception and that I still don't have the $220 exhaust tip I was charged for. I am getting ready to ask for a check from GM if they cant get me the tip by Christmas.

Thanks for creating this post. It's definitely needed! Well let me add my love in here too!

This is the best vehicle I've ever owned. So far only had it two weeks, but I love it. Ride's fantastic and very quiet. I've been spending alot of time getting to know this MyLink and I got it figured out. Love the inputs - USB, SD, even a standard household plug. I filled up a 32GB USB memory stick with mp3's and have more music always available than I could ever listen to. The bluetooth and voice commands features work great.

Haven't had any of the reception problems, but between the mp3's and sirius, as backups, I can live with what I end up wtih.

The only problem is my dog likes it too! Got the back draped in a blanket so he can keep his lab to himself!

Love mine as well, one of the best trucks I've had so far. I got a 2014 Silverado 2wd LTZ Crew Cab, makes my 2012 F150 FX2 feel like a pile of junk! No complaints from me, if there are any problems I'm sure GM will take care of it without an issue.

You will love the back up camera for hooking up the boat. I couldn't imagine having to do it any other way.

Off subject....Do you post over on malibucrew.com as well?

Yup, heated cloth!!! I've had leather in almost every vehicle I've ever owned, and I'm sick of it, to be quite honest. It's hot as hell in the summer, and cold as frozen hell in the winter!! At least heated leather isn't quite as bad in the winter, but it's still not as nice to sit on as cloth. My wife's Terrain has (heated) leather, and it'll probably be the last vehicle we buy with leather for a long time. I was happy to order my Silverado (LT) with cloth, so I could save the coin on going to an LTZ .......the only 2 major differences really being the headlights (projectors vs. regular) and leather vs. cloth. I would have liked the headlights, but I can live without them. To be honest, the headlights on this LT are actually pretty good at night so far ... no complaints! :)

And while we're raving about what we LIKE about these things, I will say that the rear step bumper and the bigger hand-holds really are "handy" for climbing into the back of the truck, and the tailgate is pretty slick, that you can just open it and let it "drop", and it lets itself down gently .......pretty cool........ I'll probably start dropping other guys' tailgates by accident from now on, forgetting that they all don't open gently!!! :D (......it's like getting used to having soft-close kitchen cabinet doors/drawers, then slamming regular doors closed in the rest of the house, or somebody else's house!).

I'll post in here because I've complained about the things wrong with mine...mostly out of frustration.

What I love:

Fit & Feel - I'm tall and even with the center console, I'm as comfortable in this truck as I've been in a vehicle since my '02 Avalanche without center console... Way more room than my '07 Yukon, even though there technically isn't much more room. I just 'feel' right in this truck. I love how the steering wheel is thicker than in my old Yukon too... So many ways to set the seats to be perfectly comfortable on long trips - sometimes I want to be real upright and up high, other times I want to be a bit lower and reclined - with the telescoping wheel, I can get it right in a lot of ways - in the '07 Yukon, the steering wheel was always too far away if I wanted to stretch my legs out more. Rides really nice.

Interior- I have the A/T package and love the red stitching, red back lighting, the subtle 'faux' carbon fiber touches on the seats and trim. The center console is immense and really well thought out. It absolutely as quiet as can be. Just a really really nice interior for a pickup.

Electronics- While I think it could be a whole lot better without much effort on their part, the Intellink system is still pretty sweet. The USB & SD ports are an awesome touch - Looking for a good deal on an external plug and play hard drive to keep in the console for all my music (just 10 years ago I thought this would be the coolest thing and would only have been in high end aftermarket systems, and now it comes stock) Pandora through the system is awesome. I think the BOSE sounds fantastic.

Exterior - Just a damn good looking truck. If I had ordered I would have gone with the color matched bumpers, but I think it looks good with the color match grille & chrome bumpers as it is. The 20" bright AT rims are really nice to look at. Headlights are sweet looking (wish the fog lamps came in LED to match though). I love the way the hood looks out of the drivers seat. Tailgate system, bed tie down system, and step bumper are slick.

I have very few niggling issues with the truck, just the couple major ones... I'd say the Intellink system, while great, could have been a lot better - it gets clunky at times. Wish the fog lamps were stock LED. Wish the parking sensors weren't so damn sensitive.

Other than that, I wish I had gotten a crew cab and bought it so I could fix it up like Seatec's!
