Interior Floor Lights?

I finally took delivery of my GMC SLT this evening after 11 weeks and 2 days. I've been learning the features all evening but the floor areas seem really dark. Am I missing a setting or something or are there no lights under the dash to illuminate the floorboard?

Checkout the how to section on how to add this

I plan to add a led strip light under the dash to. Kinda disappointing there's no floor lights.. Also upsetting the USB and 110 aren't back lite. Overall the interior lights look really nice. I'll post some pics with in the week of my floor lights.

Thanks for the link, I definitely will have to do something especially with the black/dark ash interior.

The footwell lighting, along with the underhood lamps are things that GM should have never deleted, and suprisingly, have not included in the 2014 1500's. The cheap 2013 Chevy cargo van here at work has an underhood lamp! The same one that was used in the '99-'03 GMT800'S..

Did you ever install your footwell lights? Where and on which wire did you tap into? I really want to do this mod to my truck as well.

This post has been around awhile and I thought I would put in my 2 cents.

I am going to combine a couple of these mods (Footwell lights - On with door open (bright) and also on/dim with dash/door/dash back lighting. It should be rather simple, I want some "ambient lighting on the floor along with brighter lights when the doors open. I believe I can accomplish this using a couple diode.

It appears that there is a yellow sire to the body control module that power all these light, and they are disable by the dash light simmer module, then the other connect to the gray dome light wire, this way there should be a the ambient dimming when the door closes, then also ambient lighting dimmable by the dash lights.

I am going to make up a harness and couple test lights to make sure it works before i go through all the trouble. I am also going to work on a way where I do not have to "tap" into or cut wires. I see that there are a number of unused pins on those connectors, so I am going to work on modifying those to be used as power/light taps.

I am anal about doing mods that appear factory in nature, plus I have had experiences where a dealer would try to blame issues i may be having on "modification" i made the the vehicle.

Recently i installed AMP PowerSteps and did splice or cut wires to install. It helped that the kit I got was a club-n-play that connects to the computer port.
