Hey guy just got my console in and wanted to say thanks for all the help from the forum. Getting the jump seat out was much harder than I thought but getting the new console put in was much easier than expected. I only used two bolts where the bracket mounts to the dash so that I didnt have to take any of the dash apart and the console is in there solid. I love how much storage room this thing has.

Nice, I bought all my console parts, just waiting for free time to do the install. Did you get the front three USB'c to charge?

Hey guys I just got my console in, started on it this morning at 9 and I'm wrapping it up at 1:30. Also I have the front 3 USB playing music and charging and I have all 4 cig outlets working and the interior led for the console is wired to my cab lights. Everything went smoothe and I want to thank everyone for the info and insight on the process. I absolutely love this thing. 108199a698f66c4b54c195c18b41d04e.jpg8420513fc28eaa0c4b9cd983d49f2585.jpg0d3bbf23485c65d7b14d688a4bfce04a.jpg

That's awesome Keith!! How did you tap into the lights to get the LED to work? Is that the blue wires in the picture, underneath the console? Also as far as the charging USB's up front: did you use the AC Delco USB male to male connection; one side into the back of the chargers and the other into the HMI?

Hi Guys. I've read till my eyes are crossed so I'll just see if you guys can help. I'm thinking about buying a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain. Currently, it has a fixed center console. However, I have a bunch of kids so I need the flip up console. If I buy this truck, will I be able to buy a jump seat to put it its place? Will it bolt up easily and wire easily? Looks like most people are getting rid of the jump seat in favor of the center console.

Also, anybody on here happen to have a black leather one they need to get rid of?

Thanks so much for any help. Need to buy pretty soon.

For the led light, I took the pigtail and unplugged it from the led. Then I followed the wire down about 4 inches and cut it and taped off the dead ends. From there I took the plug with now bare ends and spliced them and butt connected it to the 2 blue wire you see. One marked negative the other is white it's the positive.

As far as getting everything up front to work I removed the entire jump seat harness from the jump seat. I then plugged the harness back into the floor plugs under the passenger seat. I used all of the connections up front and that's all.

Yes, they should be interchangeable. Where are you located? I have a black leather center jump seat that I will be removing soon and selling.

I'm in SWVA. Close to the VA TN line. Wonder if the color would be the same. Looks jet black to me (leather). Not 100% sure this will be happening, but it might.

I think they are the same, black leather with white stitching. We are pretty far, I am New Orleans, 8-9 hour drive away

    • Even tougher is the 5.0 / 302. That's what this one has.    https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   https://postimg.cc/4n3F3yzY   Just realized I had the airbox removed in the engine pic, lol.
    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
