what was your first car/truck

technically, an 84 s10 with a blown up 2.8L V6 with a massive dent in the gas filler area purposely bought in south carolina to put a TPI 350 or my dads solid lifter 327 into and learn body work... did a frame off but he changed his mind on the V8 and I wound up with a 2.8L Multi-port from an 86 camaro (I paid 100 bucks for the all the MPFI from the camaro, what a steal!) and drove it every summer from 94-2003 and sold it for $2,500.... I think I made money on that but I'm not positive. I paid $1,200 for it in 1990.

 

while i technically "owned" the 84 shine'n'dime, low and slow, whatever... I drove a 78' monte carlo that took the abuse you'd typically get from a High School motorhead with a buddy who'd get you to drive into the Erie Canal if you weren't paying attention to his manipulation, lol. If you got a kid, and need indestructible... recommend 70's monte.

 

As i stated earlier, that 78 monte carlo was my winter rat until the frame rotted out, for which i bought a '91 sucksten which suffered a wiring demise from critters on the first trip my future wife made home w/me to swap vehicles that led to the worst vehicle ever.... see other topic lol.

You guys are making me feel old. My first car was a '69 Camaro, my first truck was a '66 Ford 3/4 Ton. Would love to have both of them back! Always regretted getting rid of the Camaro, and vowed to never do it again, and I haven't.

 

This is the car I have had the longest. She is 28, and still looking great, at least to my eyes. Just took these pics yesterday when I got her out and knocked the dust off. '86 Camaro Z28 IROC-Z

Nothing to be ashamed of that is a beautiful car.

 

 

 

My first car was a 1960 impala I bought from my grandpa for $1.00 and had to borrow that, it was a light green with white stripe 4 door with a straight 6 and 3 on the tree man I miss that car had to sell it to get my wife through nursing school.

1989 chevy s10. took a job making pizzas to save up $1000 to buy it. it was a bit rusty but i loved it. put a tool box in the back and use white spray paint to help mask the rust. Wasn't pretty but it was mine. Named it Brutus lol
