Bluetooth problem

Recommended Posts

I'm back with another question, either my truck or my phone is experiencing problems. Almost every day, the first time I try to use the Bluetooth feature it won't work, it seems like my phone is disconnecting itself. All I have to do is shut the Bluetooth off on my phone, then turn it back on and it will connect and I have no more trouble until the next day when it starts all over. Today I was on the road and I was connected to the truck system and I could make calls but I could not hear any ring tones nor could I hear who I had called but they could hear me. Any suggestions as to what I should be checking?

Good Morning Midnight85,

I’m sorry to hear that you are having some troubles with your Bluetooth in your vehicle. I have some troubleshooting information I can provide you. First, shut your phone completely off. Then turn the phone back on and delete the device from the list of paired devices on the vehicle. When you have done that, delete the vehicle from the list of paired devices on the phone and re-pair the device to the vehicle. I hope this information helps. Please let us know if we can further assist you with your concern. Also if you need any other assistance, feel free to reach out to us!

Thanks to both of you, I will try the first suggestion and if that doesn't get results I will be calling.

We had an issue with the bluetooth like this in my wifes Equinox. Before I did anything or went to the dealer i tried the bluetooth with my phone and it worked flawlessly. Turned out her phone just needed to be rebooted. I imagine you tried that already but figured it would be worth mentioning.

Thank you for your suggestion, I did as you said and so far now, (3 days) I have not lost connection. Every time I go to make a call I hold my breath to see if it is going to connect and so far it has.

Well, I was just getting ready to say my Bluetooth problem was fixed. I got in the truck this morning and it was connected but this afternoon I was out and it had lost the pairing. I do know though that it is not my truck, it is the phone, I also lost connection yesterday in my wife's 2013 Maxima. I have talked with the wireless provider and if they can't reset something in the phone they are going to give me a different phone. Thanks to all who have offered their help and suggestions.

I'm back to let everyone know how I got the Bluetooth problem fixed. My provider decided they were not going to do anything since the phone works just fine other than this issue. Even if they would have they would only give me another phone exactly the same as mine. I knew from everything that had happened that is was NOT the truck's fault so I bought a different phone, a Motorola this time and I have not had one single problem since.

My provider denied that they had ever had any problems with their LG phones but from other info I found on the 'net this was just not true. I talked to Motorola and they guaranteed me I would not have any problems with their phones. So far they are right.

I hope you have no more problems. I have always had probelms with my 2010 and my Motorola Droid Bionic. Truck and phone show I'm paired, but yet the Bluetooth doesnt work all the time. Pair, re-pair, still does it. Only way to get it to work is like your LG, turn Bluetooth on the phone off then back on. Usually takes three times then it will work.
