E85 on SC Performance Tune

I have been trying to find as many sources about this as possible and need a little help. I have an 06 Silverado with 5.3l Flex Fuel Vehicle. E85 is a full dollar less a gallon compared to 87.

I ran the stock tune for about 800 miles on both the e85 and 87. I logged all the fuel mileages and cost to find the cost per mile, thank you cowpie for the idea, and had an eighteen cent per mile difference. E85 was running great but took my mileage down about 4mpg, 15 to 11, in the winter.

Now I wanted to try the SC Performance tune, 91 octane, and see if it helps at all. I know SC is no Black Bear tune but I already had the programmer and with a baby on the way it's not in the budget. I have no engine pinging, rarely do I ever run at WOT, and even then no pinging. What should I be monitoring for possible issues? Plugs are a given, but how about O2 sensor readings, or timing advance, or anything you can think of. Thoughts or opinions would be great. Thanks you.

There is some chatter at the DiabloSport site forums about their top Diablo tune and E85. Seems like it is a great match. My bet is you should benefit as well with a high octane tune. With E85 averaging 100 octane and a buck cheaper for you, go for it!

I have no direct experience with the Diablo tune and E85 yet, just been running E85 most of the time on stock OEM. Been planning on pulling the trigger for one soon. I have just dug around on the DiabloSport forums and read nothing but positive about their turn and E85. The fully endorse doing that. Not a peep about anything one needs to watch out for, like O2 sensors and such. Go on over there and you can see what the those on the forums there have to say.....

One thing I like about going with Diablo, is that the tunes can be customized. There are folks who specialize in customizing the tunes to match up more closely to your driving style and engine. There is a guy in SD that specializes in custom diablo tunes for E85.

I'm not familiar with your device, what can you scan/monitor?

I can scan and monitor spark advance, o2 sensor readings and short and long term fuel trims.
