4wd vs 2wd weight difference?

How much weight does 4wd add on a truck vs 2wd? Does it effect fuel economy and performance?

honestly I cant tell that im even driving a 4x4. the only things that makes me feel like im driving a 4x4 is when I just happened to glance at the little 4x4 knob on the dash.

Interesting I would have suspected a larger weight differential between the 2 and 4 whl versions. I think I am going to run mine across the scales and see what it weighs with all my gear I bet it is pushing 6k

I was thinking it was around two hundred pounds.. And yes mpg ratings are 1 less both city and hwy for 4wd's. May or maynot be the case in real world, but it's believable.
