Okay a local dealer says they can get them in 3 weeks but want $1,390.99 including tax and $1,511 installed with tax. QualityBumper says they will get them mid next month and they will be $125-150 more than the current version. They will also sell the upgrade kit for the current model.

Make sure you check you LED lights that come with steps, mine were the older version and all went out over a 2 week period. If you call AMP research direct, they will send you a free set of 4 new lights to install INSTEAD of the ones in the box. Trust me, its a PITA to change them out after you have them all set and all wiring connections heat shrunk !! ( The old LED's had a bad connection in them, the new ones come in same bag with a BLUE sticker on it, otherwise they are identical )

I didn't find out about this until after mine were installed. Two of mine went out and they sent me a bag with 4 new LEDs. Now all is fine.

Did you order the ones with the OBD-II plug already included, or the standard kit and then by the OBD-II plug seperately?

Thanks for the heads up Sox! Should I wait to call amp direct for the replacements? I assume they need a serial number...

I ordered the wire harness separately from the running boards.. This reseller doesn't have the "kit" yet with everything included. Price shipped was like $1110

I just contacted AMP directly. No serial number required, but in my situation, my contact at AMP knew I had just installed them because he referred me to the local installer and I sent him email afterward. My LEDs didn't fail until a couple of weeks after the installation.

Okay so if you are going the "older" route, meaning that you are getting the original part number from quality bumpers that was mentioned, 75154-01A, then are these the 3 things that are needed to basically upgrade it to the new set up that comes standard with the PNP set up and the OBD-II port pass through harness?

Just curious because the best I can seem to find the new set up (76154-01A) is around $1,299.

Since the ONLINE15 code still works, I can save around $150

any help is much appreciated!

You will need the PNP Harness at a minimum to use the OBD-II port. This is what is included in the newer kit #75164-01A (Pass Through Harness is not included). If you want to be able to use the OBD-II port without unplugging the steps after installation, then add the Pass Through Harness. I've had the steps on for a while now with just the PNP Harness and just got the Pass Through Harness so that I can use a Range V8 device on the port and so the GM tech won't have to unplug when updating software. I would get all 3 at the same time. I hope this helps.

I lucked out and got the newer kit installed for $1300. :)

So what I posted, is that all I would need to be able to have everything be PNP and still be able to use the OBD-II port?

Yes! Go for it.
