Aftermarket Rear DVD Player

Ok, I got our Overhead DVD installed this past weekend. Works great, but the FM Modulator is a pain in the rear, get static. I installed the Audiovox AVXMTG13UA
, which is a 13.3" with built-in DVD player. Here is the question for the gallery:

Has anyone tried to add a Bluetooth transmitter to their DVD player via the USB port?

My DVD Player has a USB port, so I'm thinking maybe the factory stereo would pick up the transmitter as a source and play the audiop via Bluetooth.

Opinions and experiences please?

Moved the fm modulation to a higher frequency and it's working better. We will see after the new stereo is in if it will work or if I'll need to hard wire it.

I ended up running audio cables through the headliner and floor to the aux line in the console.

has anyone added an overhead DVD player?

I am going to remove the rear dome light and tap into the wires from it.

There are 4 wires

the black is neg

the white is for constant power

the grey is for the dome light (auto on when the doors are open)

my questions is the yellow wire.

I have no idea what its for.

I can post what I've done when I finish if anyone is interested.

Yellow is for the actual switch power, so when you hit the switch at each light, it will come on. So it goes.....

Black - Common/Ground

White - Constant power

Gray - Auto on when you open any door

Yellow - Switch power to just turn that light on.

So you will still need to connect the yellow wire if the dvd player as a push button switch to turn the reading light on.

Can you post more details on exactly how this is done?

Many thanks

There is already a hole in the headliner where the DVD player goes (from the dome lights)

I was able to go from above the rear drivers side door and use a snake to get from the headliner hole to the door seal.

You can then run the line down the rubber door seal to the cable tray that is under the floor plate.

the floor plates pop up and give you a little room to run extra cables.

I ran the cables forward to in front of the drivers door and under the dash.

then through the dash and into the tray by the drivers right leg.

from there into the console.

I have headrest monitors and would like to know if I can add a video output to my factory mylink to sync all my monitors.

Very nice I have considered this route or headrest dvd players for the wife's acadia but I hate putting money in her cars because she cant seem to keep them very long.

I think I'd do some kind of hang over the seat monitor/pad. In a few years there'll be some game device or media player your kid will just have to have. Any hardwired and hard mounted device will be like a flip phone... Last year's stuff for the crap pile. They outgrow stuff faster than most people can pay for it

My 11 year old niece could care less about a movie in a vehicle. She's got her head buried in a cellphone. No more cartoons with blue muppets or talking goldfish. She's networking.

Get your kid what they want, not what you want.

Looking into a pair of headrest DVD for a trip coming up in two months for my kids. What brand did you go with and are you happy with them?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!

I got the ones from GM PARTS DIRECT they match my interior and I am very pleased with them. I've had no trouble. Just wish I could sync all my screens.
