thoughts on this service/recall history of used 2014 SLT

I just started truck shopping (I'm somewhat new to GM trucks) and debating about getting a used one to save a few thousand bucks. This used SLT All-terrain truck had the following work done it, should I be concerned at all? It's located 4 hours from me so I haven't test drove it yet. The last 2 recalls on 2/28/14 were done while the dealer already had it in their possession and listed it for sale.

Yea, those are all the bulletins that have been out on the trucks so far. Pretty standard stuff. Not a big deal all all.

Props on finding a used 2014...but for one reason or another the previous owner did not like it....maybe it had the dreaded, unsolvable tire vibration issue!

thanks. You do wonder why someone would trade in a 2014 truck so soon, but there's several used ones out there for sale. I was hoping the service history would list if the owner did bring it in for potential issues like the vibration or black smoke (even if the dealer's response was "normal operation" or whatever), but this one doesn't. Would it list that if so?

I personally would stay away from that.. Regardless of those "updates", those are more trips to the dealer then my 2003 Silverado had in its entire life

Interesting that this truck has had 2 sliding rear window regulators replaced. Also interesting that the truck had only been driven 30 miles since November 2013.

from reading the site here, they do seem like standard recalls/updates like you guys said. kmgz400, it was only taken in twice by the old owner and then current selling dealer performed the additional recalls while it's been sitting on their lot.

yeah I noticed that too about the miles from November to February. The salesperson I spoke to said they don't know much about the history of the truck (other than this service history I posted), and that they bought it from auction and it was originally a 'manufacturer' vehicle which likely means it was a demo truck for some GM employee. They bought it from an auction in New Jersey, is there any GM plants or corporate offices in NJ?

Carfax is clean and also reports a oil change on 08/05/2013 at 5,069 miles.

I would not buy used to save a few thousand, most of these trucks lose 5 to 10 thousand in value the day they drive off the dealer lot. I would wait if possible to the end of the model year for a good deal on a new one.

RUN,RUN, RUN, AS FAST AS YOU CAN. SEE MY OTHER POST. THIS IS JUST THE START SCOTT 19677.

Drive the truck if you are interested. Negotiate with the dealer. Most will not let a buyer that drove 4 hours off their lot without a deal. You've seen the pricing the members here have posted off MSRP. I wouldn't fear the purchase. I've recently returned to GM and love my 2014 truck with over 2k miles on it.

The one you're looking at is still under warranty and if the selling dealership is a Chevy dealer, as for a complementary extended warranty.

It's disappointing that those that don't like their trucks seem to lash out rather than doing something else about it. Vehicles have warranties for a reason.

Post pics once you pick one out!

thanks, I'm actually shopping for new ones now (Sierra SLT All-Terrain models). I was looking at those used ones because they were the earlier build trucks without the cornerstep bumper, which I think looks better without the steps. But I guess I'll still like a new one with those steps. I'll post back if I buy one.
