I FINALLY ADMIT IT>

Scott you do realize that gm is not going to see this post here and give you a call for a buy back right? You need to contact your dealer you bought from and start the process. First things first you have to give your dealer an opportunity to fix the issues with your truck and multiple ones at that. Buy backs are a last resort for the dealership so expect them to take every inch they can get before going with that option.

Yes I realize this. That is why I made the stupid decision to just trade the first truck in on another one and lost a LARGE amount of money. The dealers advise for the majority for any shake or vibration issues is drive it till your first oil change and see if it clears up. that is B.S. And yes, Im a little OCD about all the snap, crackle, pop issues. But lets be honest . If they start taking apart the dash and door to fix 3 or 4 rattles you will then have a scratched up dash with even more rattles when they put it back together. Have you ever heard the NASCAR term "cautions breed cautions"? But I promise you this . When people see a vinyl wrapped rolling billboard saying "DO NOT BUY GM' They will lose a few potential customers. Still it is a shame because the best thing about the truck is the appearance. But back to your point,I do not expect them do anything as long as people refuse to admit they were sold a sub par product at a premium price. And after all ,how do you expect GM to call when they are all in front of congress today testifying about poor if not criminal and fatal business practices. I will not shut up till they just give me what they promised. A CONTRACT IS A PROMISE. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE BEING LIED TO FOR 72 MONTHS @ 3% INTEREST. If GM thinks Im a fool, then I will oblige them and act like one.

900 miles? Don't make me laugh. That's not enough miles for many problems to rear their ugly head. Post your satisfactory review after 30k miles or so. Then you will have some credible data to present.

I have 2230 miles on my 2013 Chevy Sonic which I bought two months ago. No problems so far. Is it a trouble free car? Definitely too early to tell. My '09 Impala LTZ with 72k miles on it has been a good car. Same for my '06 Silverado with 21k miles. Very few problems with each. That's enough time and miles to make that observation.

So all the guys complaining and having problems have at least 30k miles? no, 20k? no, 10k? maybe.

The sad thing is, many of the problems on them occur before 900 miles!

I will say for sure. GM customer service and GM buisness resource center are the absolute worst I have ever dealt with.

I said that claiming that one's truck is great and trouble free when not experiencing any problem for a mere 900 miles is way too early.

Faulty parts or workmanship usually show up pretty quickly. When troubleshooting, the first step is usually to look at the last thing done. I know that the majority of us have had zero problems with our '14s. I've built a lot of hot rods and motorcycles. They are usually good to go after a short shakedown run. Any problems usually show up that soon.

I guess I'm in the minority here. I've got almost 2,000 miles on my '14. It shifts with ease, no rattles, no smoking exhaust, no poor radio reception, door seals intact. Gas mileage is increasing (17.5 mixed city, 23 hwy best) after I stopped driving like I'm going to church every day downtown.

After reading all this, I remember that Volkswagen had a lot of quality issues with their Jettas and Beetles when they moved the production to Mexico. You either got a perfect car or an absolute lemon, there did not seem to be much inbetween. This seems to be happening here with these trucks too. Some people are lucky and get a good one, some get a lemon. A real lemon.

As for myself, I simply will not pay $ 50k for a 1/2 ton pickup assembled in Mexico with over 50% of its parts made in China and Mexico. Not even $ 30k.

I will chime in on this one...I feel bad for the OP and his issues are real for sure. My 14 has been spot on thus far although it only has 500 miles on it. My perspective comes from someone who is very OCD and has owned over 16 cars/trucks all bought new and I am only 39. I tend to trade and move them around a lot when $ works out. I have owned nearly every brand thus far. Guess which brand had the most rattles?????Toyota, followed by Ford, Honda, Nissan, Pontiac and last Chevy/GMC. I just bought a 08 Kia Optima as a daily beater and that thing rattles and buzzes like a can of rocks with 40,000 on it.

No I am not a homer although admit I do prefer Chevy and have always had one in the stable. I look a lot at fit and finish on vehicles and this Silverado is by far the nicest vehicle I have had. I recently leased a 14 Toyota Venza for the wife and the fit and finish on that blows. Dash does not line up to speaker grills etc. cheap plastic feel and it creaks. I also agree that if a vehicle will have major pops and rattles they tend to show up quickly and I assure you I will find the smallest ones quickly. I have had both front doors off the Silverado for tint, no rattles. I had to have the rear driver window replaced since a window vent scratched it with 30 miles on it, no rattles and GM warrantied the glass.

My Impalas were one of the best sedans I owned but even those had the notorious intermediate steering shaft clunk that GM never did figure out. They just lubed and replaced it when needed. I hope I never get the problems some speak of but again think things like major vibrations, driveshaft's etc. show up quickly on these heavy trucks. I find the electric power steering awesome and the AFM drastically improved over my 11 Silverado. That was an oil consuming nightmare for me and I still was sad to trade that truck.

The transmission recall is annoying but personally think it would have been a SB if not for the CEO of GM having to testify in Congress this week over the current ignition issues that have killed 13 people. GM wants to get out in front of this to avoid any further bad press and warranted bad press for their handling of that situation.

Long post but just my 2 cents.....

You just gave me a great idea. All I need is a little sugar and water , and BINGO! , Ive got the perfect rolling lemonade stand! GENIUS! I will be rich! :driving:

Man oh man. Reading all these posts make me wish I didn't buy a new truck this year. So far with 700 miles I've been lucky and I need to heavily drive it more. I just need the front windshield fix and outside of that I have no real issues to state and I hope it stays that way.

I am glad now that I bought the extended warranty though!

I was just reading about GM and their issue with the ignition switch and how the change would have been a buck. I am now a little more worried about the company I choose from. But atleast any and a issues now they will jump on having a recall instead of letting it hang.

I just heard on the news that the total number of vehicles that GM is recalling now for various problems exceeds 6 million vehicles. That's most likely the largest vehicle safety related recall in automotive history.

Actually .54 cents per vehicle is what GM saved by sweeping it under the rug, hopefully they will now pay 54 million to each family that lost loved ones, and the line is growing by the day! Like I have said before I want this to cost GM so much capital that they never ever never think of putting .54 cents per vehicle over human lives again!
