Car Rental Companies - Does anybody rent Wranglers

We are in the market for a new car for the wife and she's been considering a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4-door. She eventually wants to do a lift, wheels, tires, etc.

Before we buy we want to really drive one and make sure that's what she wants. She will be coming from an Audi A4 so quite a difference. Since most dealers won't let you take a brand-new Jeep and test drive for a couple of days, we thought about finding one at a car rental place and rent one for a weekend to get a really good idea of what they are like.

Does anybody know if any of the rental agencies (Enterprise, Hertz, etc) rep Wranglers?

Easiest way to check IMO would either drive around and find one or just save the gas and call around to different car rental companies. My .02

I have seen them as rentals but not sure which co. Ill tell you first hand I had an 2008 Rubicon JKU and that thing was a dong. but my wife hated her 11 Equinox she had and wanted to look at the JKUs I sad ok lets take a look at them since they did get a new engine set up and I promised her a brand new vehicle when she graduated with her BSN but man it was night and day from my 08. She ended up buying a 14 Polar Edition, its loaded and very quiet and smooth to drive. She loves that this. Heres a pic..20140325_152407_zpshsyiyoyd.jpg

DAGS and you shouldn't have any problem finding quite a few options in Tennessee.

IMO that dealer hasn't worked for your money. They should have no issues with letting you try one out. I looked at a Legacy the other day, told them I was a student and didn't want to buy it, and I think they still would have let me take it for a long test drive, lol.

I'd say call a dealer or two and tell them you want one for a day. If they won't cough up a new one maybe they have a used one they can give you for an extended test drive. We have always had a Jeep in the family except for the last few years. In Feb the wife got the bug again and traded in her Subaru for another Jeep. We had a 10 JK Unlimited but like mentioned before the 3.8l couldn't get out of it's own way so it went away. The 3.6l seems much better, plenty of power and very smooth. Here's the wife's new rig:
