Black or Cocoa interior? That is the question....

I agree with spurshot, get what YOU want. Thats why I ordered mine the way i wanted it. You should feel good about your purchase and have pride for your truck, dont settle for less. There were plenty trucks on the lots, but didint have everything I wanted, especially the 6.2 which was my priority.

I personally would switch exterior colors before I caved on interior. I'm not a fan of black interior. It shows everything and it doesn'tmix well with Texas heat

Order guide shows all interiors can be ordered with all exteriors -- of course this doesn't mean the dealer spec orders will be I all combinations.

I appreciate all the help guys, I still favor the cocoa....wife is not a fan of the mocha dashboard and I guess that it was it holding me back with put next to that dark silver around the nav...etc. The black certainly fits a little bit better with the denali decor but its going to be touch, might need to go back down.

Looks as if I will be doing a personal order, dont think I can wait 2 months and more worried about 2 months not knowing incentives. Are the normally better during the summer trying to push them out on normal every year?

After buying two 2014 Silverado's there is no way I would special order a vehicle. If I can't inspect it I wouldn't buy it.

My High Country is getting a new rear end as I post this. The 2014 Z71 loaner they give me has the vibration issue. 3 of the 7 2014's I have driven have had the vibration issue now.

On the wife's the back door lines do not line up at the bottom. Going over the lot many have the same issue, but some are nice and neat. The dealer is aware of the issue because they have already repaired several GMC's. The repair is bending the door back in shape and repainting. Not a good fix.

I wouldn't buy one unless I could go over it in detail. To many issues with the 14's. They are good trucks but the QC stinks.

Hdnitehawk are they crew cabs or double cabs? just wondering if Made in Mexico plant the QC is worse than the FT Wayne in plant. Have you noticed these issue on all models? Please fill me in, you got my interest lol.

New orders have been cut off for the 2014 model year (according to the schedule my dealer showed me yesterday)

Same schedule shows start of production for 2015 1500's is August 4 -- same as most years, but he had no idea when the '15 year would be opened for orders.

I'm wondering if the 2015 pu's will get the adaptive cruise currently offered in the 2015 Yukon's.

If you want a truck before September, you're going to have to find one already built or on dealer order.

May 9th is model year cutoff for 1500's

as per GM rep on phone

That may be what the rep said, but the chart we looked at was GM published and broken out by assembly plant - I was looking specifically at the dates for the double cab (fort wayne).

Looked just like the charts we used as a Tier 1 parts supplier to GM.

Other vehicles were already cut-off.

Another thought -- Maybe the dealer orders get rolled up thru a rep who then has to determine how to distribute the reps allocation to the dealers reps area - but I can't imagine they'd give the reps 3 weeks to do that. (meaning that the dealer chart is different than the rep chart?)

interesting, was talking with someone who was tryin to order as late as possible to play the rebate game. GMC marketing sales associate on the main GM line said May 9th. Then again I get 5 different answers everytime I talk to someone else there lol. Its like the left hand doesnt know what the rights doing. I also was reading somewhere that they would be taking orders for 2015 1500's in early July, but who really knows. My Truck was just built Wednesday in Ft Wayne

Crew cabs made in Mexico.

Get what you want...I vote the cocoa. Black interior is hot, shows dust on dash and the least little bit of dirt on the carpets. If I get a 14-15 It would be silver with cocoa.

Would have to be an order as dealers are chicken to order something out side the box. And just because you order does not mean you have to buy it if it comes in with problems.

Wanted a certain set up on a truck once. Dealer said I would need to order such and deposit as not the norm for inv. truck got delayed and I bought something else. Dealer sold the truck when it came in with in a week or two and started ordering more the same of the not the norm for inv. set up.

Here is my advice - instead of agonizing over trivial color combinations, read very carefully about the problems some owners are having with these new trucks. Then decide if you really want to take a gamble or wait a while for the new model year, when they may have solved some of these annoying problems.

Personally, I would wait until GM has a positive and confirmed fix for the vibration issues, seat movement issues, harsh transmission shifting, exhaust flapper valve, excessive paint chipping on painted bumpers, heated seat issues, radio reception problems, interior rattles, etc. And yes, there is a guy on this forum who traded in his problem ridden 2014 truck on another new 2014 truck in hopes of getting a trouble free one - and the new one turned out to be even worse than the first one. How do you know yours will be trouble free?

One of the things that I like best about this forum is the class and respect of others that 99% of the posters show.

I suppose all forums will have a "wild card" show up every now and then.

Bottom line, this isn't the place for the vulgar stuff.

I'm surprised no one suggested the 'ash' interior, in heated/cooled of course. :driving:

I was considering the ash, most of the silver trucks have the ash/black or just black. I just liked the cocoa dune better so thats what I ordered with my silver exterior. I looked at all of them in person before I ordered mine.
