My new 2014...I'm so sick right now.

I just realize I don't have the time to argue, reschedule, try to prove it is wrong, and make time on my part to make it right. It is messed up and the easiest fix is just to live with it until the next truck comes along.

 

I had Line-X in my last 2 trucks and it was the best thing since sliced bread so I am not just a complainer. I talked with the regional guy and he had the same song and dance that every corperate guy has. He wants me to be happy but I am sure he would be hard pressed to get this monstrosity out of my truck. I am just done. I also don't want to make the first payment on a truck that has been in the body shop. That would hurt resale even more.

 

12 months and 12K miles and this will be over. I'll get something different and not use this francise or even Line-X to spray it again. These guys are in Florida. That is all I will say because I know people get lawsuit happy these days if I were to name names. I really looked forward to this truck and Line-X ruined the experience for me. Never again.

Liable suits don't go anywhere if facts are stated. Big corporations don't sue customers as a rule. It's bad for business. (you only have to look as far as this forum to see that GM doesn't sue customers bad mouthing them) This the stuff of one of those news channel consumer wronged episodes.

You should be able to get them to replace the whole box of the truck with a factory painted and prepped box that would be an exact color match. They carry insurance for that type of stuff. You might even be able to have the bed liner installed at the factory like one of the previous posters??? I had heard that this would be a factory option, but the dealers just didn't seem to be with the program last year when I was looking to order, or mine would have came to the dealer with this spray in liner installed. At least that way it would also be part of GM's Warranty.

 

You really need to hold their feet to the fire on this issue, until they make your truck right. I wouldn't stop until the whole box was replaced with a factory perfect replacement. I really feel for you man, but don't let them off the hook. Thanks again for that information.

 

I am going to call Monday to see if this place next to Fort Wayne Assembly that sprays in the liners for GM would be able to spray in my liner, after the fact that I took delivery back last September. He said it was $125 less than Line-X, and that would probably cover my gas down there and back, with money left over for lunch and dinner. I have been babying the bed and lining it with old comforters and sheets of foam whenever I haul something in it, as I didn't want to have a liner sprayed in during the winter months. Maybe I am wrong in my thinking, but I just though it might not be the best time to have it done? I want to get a liner sprayed into the bed, so I can use it like it was intended to be used, like a truck.

 

Maybe now I can get some sleep? Seriously!

 

I wish you well in whatever you decide to do, but I know I wouldn't stop until they made it perfectly right, with a perfect Factory replacement bed/box that would bolt right onto your frame. If I had to go as far as hiring an attorney, they would be having to fork over some cash as well, just for the principle and mental anguish. If they don't budge with your request, it would probably only cost you the price of an attorneys phone call to them to get them to jump over the moon? Good luck!

One more thing I would suggest.

If they replace the bed, make damn sure YOU know if a carfax report made or not. (most insurance will report a major payout) If there is, find to a good civil lawyer and sue them for the loss of value between a clean report and a dirty report + attorney fee's. You can thank me later when/if you trade in...

I did some checking, and they are a Canadian Company. They have Setups in Warren, MI, next to the Ram Plant, Dearborn, MI, and Kansas City, MO, next to the Ford F-150 plants, as well as several others including Roanoke, IN, next to Ft. Wayne Assembly. Not sure if these places do anything on the side, or just for the big Companies?

They do go over the rail by the cab but not the side rails, I didnt think I would like the side rail caps but when it showed up I did. The Caps also have Silverado inprinted in them. It was done so well I would probally say it was sprayed robotically.

I did exactly the same thing. Bought my 2014 Ltd Z71 on Wed. took it in to Line-x on Friday. But I was much luckier. They did a great job. It looks great. Really sorry for your problems.

What liner did you have them spray in? Are your drain holes open or filled in? And did they shoot over the plastic caps in the side of the bed? Thanks for any answers.

 

Mine goes to Line-X at 8 AM tomorrow morning, wish me luck. Still trying to decide whether to go with the Platinum or Premium liner. Guess I will make that decision in the morning.

@Ventilator Line-x premium. They did everything right. Drain holes, plastic caps, even took the screws out of the access panel in the tailgate and sprayed over the front rail. Good luck. I'm sure they'll do a great job.
