What tires do you plan to run?

Should they fit, I was planning on running the stock tires on the 20x9 wheels it came with until the tread runs out

Thanks. Fits in the garage... Just barely. Yeah, it was taller than I was expecting... 43.75 to the fender...

 

 

That's crazy. I looked at a truck the other day that supposed to have a 4" lift and it was 40.5 and 41.5.

stock fender height on my all terrain was 36 inches two inch level and tires put me at 39 in the front. So a four inch lift would bring it to around 40 inches on stock tires.

On the previous generation Gmc I was looking to lift my 2010 all terrain. The rancho lift was advertised as 4 inch but was closer to 6 inches according to all the reviews and the only theory I ever heard of why they would do this was because of lift laws in some states. Like Massachusetts maximum legal lift between tires and suspension is 4 inches on a truck like mine. That being said there are plenty of trucks lifted higher than that around here . You just have to know the right people I guess.

Yeah, problem I'm having is that everywhere I look I see different fender heights .... I really was trying to get a square answer on what the height should be but seems to vary an inch or two from one truck to the next. Guess it's not that big of a deal since I'm happy with the way it turned out... But I chose the 4" lift for a reason. Its a 4x4 and has 33" tires so I know that's a factor in the height. Oh well...

Dropping the Sierra off Wednesday morning for a RCX 4 & 3/4 combo lift with basically same wheels as baggedlvintegra, Moto Metal 970's 20x10 with - 24 offset, but went with the 305/55R20 Toyo Open Country AT II's Extreme for the shoes. Installer is skeptic he won't have to trim all night long so I'm hoping I have the same luck as this guy! Wish me well as my baby goes in for the operation. I was planning on the Fabtech 4" kit with these. Did you have any issues with the offest and the RCX Kit and Control arm clearances at all??

Agree with that. I am just about ready to pull the trigger on these after seeing that pic. Anthracite with a milled edge.

Ha not yet...paralysis by analysis right now. My birthday is this month and wheels are my gift to myself but just not sure yet.

Anybody know the dimensions of these wheels? They are the 20x9 OEM wheels and I wanted to know the offset and backspacing

Yeah, I hear you there. This is driving me nuts. I have an Audi S5 I want to sell before I buy a new truck. Wanting an Iridium Denali and trying to figure out which wheel. If and when, I'm stuck between that Maverick in Anthracite and the Fuel Throttle.

This is from an older post so hopefully you will still get this. I have a 2015 Serria Denali 1500 and wanted to have the same setup as you with the 2.5" leveling kit and 33" tires but was told by the shop that the Denali magnetic suspension system would not work right with the leveling kit. Called the dealership and they confirmed it would be a real bad idea. Specifically would mess up on towing anything as the back end would drop much lower than the front and the sensors would go also go haywire. Did you run into that problem at all? Edited by wcass621

Should be stamped in yhw back but I think it's +27mm 5.75

Look on the last couple pages and there's a company who will level and adjust the sensors. Someone has also talked to a GM tech who claims he can re-calibrate the sensors once the level has been installed, although I don't think anyone on here has confirmed yet.

Huge help, thanks a lot. Have a call into my dealer to see if this can be done. Makes the difference between being maxing out at a 305/50/20 and getting to put on the 295/55R20's that I want.

Some say you cant. I fit my 33x12.5x20 with lots of room to clear on the OEM rim

 

 

Anyone have a definate answer? I am thinking of making the switch to 35's. But I would like to do a -24 rim on a 35! Sexy!

You must not understand offset. While I love negative offset too, the reason guys are able to run 35s with a leveling kit with minor rubbing is because they are usually on stock wheels, or wheels that have a positive offset and a large amount of backspacing. This keeps the wheel in as you turn, keeping it away from the inner fender. With a -24, I'm guessing you'd be on a 20x10, 33x12.50 are probably going to rub a bit with just a leveling kit. to run 35s you'd probably have to go full 5"+ kit. Going to have to be more than a leveling kit though. I hope you understand what I'm saying, trying to make it as clear as I can.

 

Edit: I have a -12 on my truck and they only clear by about 3/4" with half tread 285/50/20.

    • Its no wonder you've gravitated to the oil types and brands you have in later years after trying certain brands and one being a specialty oil or at least very hard to come by up here and the other would have been a commonly found oil of the era and the vastly different outcomes as a result to using the vehicles in question the same distance for an OCI . It shows what marketing hype can do without actually having the product to back up the claims and that is no different now with the insane claims that are written on the side of a bottle of oil from some of the off the shelf oils.    What has surprised me and I was already finding this out before I bought my truck with the GDI engine, that this newer fancy technology that seemingly would suggest better fuel economy/emissions with this high pressure spray of fuel is not in reality kind at all to the engine or at least the oils life. Yet they insist on claiming long OCI with this technology just like they did with the port or similar type fuel injection systems when in reality its a step back in oil life to have a GDI system.    I think the mistake your making Grumpy is that your not sending your samples to Blackstone and getting the feel good glowing report that you can run it another 1000 or more miles and then send another sample where they say run it yet another 1000 miles and on and on it goes until your sending in something that looks a lot like road tar and then they may suggest you change your oil within the next 1000 miles 😆
    • I am guessing that engines of that design back then had a better ability to be abused and survive longer than a new design engine with the long timing chain and the overhead cams and phasers etc. But I would never guess that an engine could go that far and not fail spectacularly or at least die a slow death. 
    • In the 80's 90's I'd run Honda's 7,500 miles between changes using Red Line HP 5W20 and do it for hundreds of thousands of miles with issues. Back in the day it was an SAE 20 with the HTHS of a SAE 30 and SN add load. It was also very polar. Oxidation VOA was over 120. Besides those motors were SPFI and lean burn tech. I could have likely run it longer but never did.    We had a Toyota bought new I ran on Pennzoil's latest and greatest synthetic of the day with "Penthane". A made up word for a very low dose of PAO. Tried 7,500 mile OCI's in that Group III/VI chemistry and the rings tapped out at 90K. Rocker box wasn't as bad as the one Punch put up but it wasn't good either. Also a SPFI motor.    I'm around 3,750 across the board on these GDI monsters and the oil it tapped out by then usually on TBN/TAN crossover and color. Red Line HP Euro.    The AMSOIL SS brochures tell you to follow the OEM values for the service class but that it can be run up to 25K if monitored. I can't imagine what motor could go that distance and not tap out. I've never owned one.    Yes, I know. Lot's of people do. I'm just not going to be one of them. 
    • I knew a guy in the early 80's that bought a new Monte Carlo and ran it a 100,000 miles without ever changing the filter or the oil. Just kept adding. It looked like that inside.     
    • Good evening. I was lucky enough to get passed down to me a 2007 GMC LBZ that was my great uncle's. While the underside and rockers are more or less gone I feel like with time I can restore it to working order since it only has 110,000 miles and he put nearly every option he could get without getting the new body style since he did not trust DEF. So far I have done everything I can think of but when I put the key into the ignition nothing happens. I put 2 brand new batteries in it. Cleaned the terminals. Check all the fuses and relays and they all pass with my multimeter. I know I'm missing something that I just cant think of. The only odd thing is the OBD2 port works which makes me think its not the mega fuse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
